This has probably been done thousands of times, so I apologise in advance. Just wanted to see ESB's thoughts on it.

    Now, fire away.

I had Hagler winning a close decision.

I also had Hearns beating Leonard the second fight.

:good. I've had it 114-114 and 115-113 Hagler (scored it twice). The judges were fooled by Sugar Ray's flashy combo's of the ropes that were connecting like %10. Marvin was banging awa at the body the whole fight, but wasn't very noticable as their was no power on the shots coming late into the fight. One judge had it 118-110 SRL, tut tut tut.

I've scored the fight at least twice. I don't have the scores in front of me right now, but I remember having Leonard a two point winner and a three point winner.

116 112 hagler the only time i scored it, even when i dont score it and just watch it i always have this overwhelming feeling that Marvin won.

Marvin Hagler-"iam the champion, if you want my belt you have to take it"

115-113 SRL...but it could easily have been the same score for Hagler.

I am a big Hagler fan. The reality is it was a close fight.

7/5 Hagler...but he basically gave away the first couple rounds by fighting conventional and not doing much at all really so I could see Leonard getting the nod.

I never went back and scored it, but while watching the original closed circuit broadcast, I felt Hagler won a close contest. It didn't appear he got much credit for the body punches though. He was crazy to agree to 12 rounds. That should have been a 15 round fight.

Actually, all championship fights should be. You know guys like Calzaghe and Mosley can go 15. And the last parts of the fight gave some sluggers a chance to wear down, with body punches, faster fighters. Now the faster fighters just have to build up the early lead and avoid getting ko'd through 12. It was much harder in the old days.

    115-114 Hagler

I believe hagler thought that as champ, your belt had to be taken. It looked that way, as he gave too many early rounds away. Not that leonard landed many substansial blows, but he was getting points on flashy flurries at the end of rounds after running for 2 & 1/2 minutes.
There were many close rounds that should be scored for the agressor

The media wanted sugar & the longer he stayed upright the less chance hagler had to win a decision

This was the first fight I ever saw punch count, this hurt hagler also as he was easier to hit than leonard.

that sums up a lot of hagler's problems. the first 4 rounds were all leonard. not cause of damage but almost by default: marvin did NOTHING. the last four were almost all hagler. I gave leonard round 8 and 11 (i think) and all the others in between 4 and 12 to marvin. he waited too long and if he had gone out with conviction, as we saw past the 6th, all the movement in the world wouldn't have saved leonard who took a pasting in the later rounds

Ive watched this fight many many times.... here is my card.....

    1. Leonard
    2. Leonard
    3. Leonard
    4. Leonard
    5. Hagler
    6. Leonard
    7. Hagler
    8. Hagler
    9. Hagler
    10. Hagler
    11. Leonard
    12. Leonard

    115-113 Leonard

Rds 6, 9, 10 & 12 were the hardest to score, they got 2 of those close rds each in the end so fair is fair.

Leonard showed better defence & ring generalship, he outlanded Hagler too.

No contraversy here, SRL won close & clear enough to have at least avoided this ridiculous robbery claim which is total fantasy on Hagler`s part because he is annoyed at himself for losing the fight he craved for yrs.

    The End !
