In the same way, you shouldn't accuse posters of being someone else unless you can prove it, which you haven't and have no intention of doing so

so, by your own standards, you must now apologize to me or suffer dishonor.

You and John carry on as though the name Terry Norris leaves no mark on you but the hostile tone of your letter gives you away. It left a permanent mark on Leonard's record, exposed his limitations which I pointed out, and while I too was crushed over the outcome, I have learned to live with it.

I gradually accepted that although Leonard was one of my personal favorites, he had to make room for a future star and hall of famer with loads of speed and slick moves. Not to mention a trigger quick left hand that had opponents reeling!

You won't see unhealthy obsessions and false false bravado coming from me in the form of "Too much Ray Leonard and don't you forget it!"

now will you see me engage in the act of demeaning the great Norris with such childish remarks as "Norris had to accept a DQ win from Santana twice snicker snicker!"

as if it were his fault the opponent got himself disqualified

I know, it's an idiotic remark but the old fart (JT) still gleams with pride over having made it.

Again, I only made reference to the Old Red Rooster in my post, as you claim you are/were not , - yet, you replied indignantly to that post - or should I say you cried fowl/foul.

You should’ve observed the Fifth and not responded at all. Doesn’t matter if you can’t or refuse to join the obviously connected dots - everyone else can.

JT is a fine poster, listen and learn, don’t be so jealous.

Read the thread title - where does it mention Norris? - your every waking/sleeping moment, you are consumed with thoughts of Terry. Not good. Actually, strange.

You read as if your oxygen levels are hitting dangerously low levels - careful not to keel over.

If it happens too frequently it can cause permanent brain damage - if not already in place.

Continuing knocking yourself out all on your own if you must -

    Hearns, because he won clearly.

I got the impression if you asked 100 people who they thought won Leonard-Hagler, you would get 40 SRL, 40 Hagler, and 20 draws (how I scored it). That might be the most evenly disputed decision ever.

Whereas if you asked 100 people about Leonard-Hearns 2, you would only get a handful of people who did not think Hearns won. Even Ray says he lost.

I agree completely, and Hearns floored Leonard twice, something Hagler couldn't do.

A very nuanced, subjective interpretation but re the second KD in round 11? I always felt that Ray let himself hit the deck to avoid further heavy incoming artillery.

Not to say Ray wasn’t badly hurt - he was, but taking 1 or 2 more power shots while still on his feet might’ve seen Leonard off right there and then. Never know for sure but if I’m right it was still a very smart move to allow Ray some brief respite and see the fight out.
