How dare you you ****ing cheeky ****, this chump would be lucky to last a round with Hagler, Hagler KO1, Hagler was a beast in his prime unhittable unstoppable and from a different breed of fighters, Hopkin's would be lucky to be top 10 in Haglers era, Sibson beat's him easy

 

So much Hopkins hate on this board.

 

This is a funny post. One of the more laugh-inducing ones I've read.

 

Do you read your own post and ask "Did that make any sense?".

I would assume no.

I pick Marvin Hagler by a tough but unanimous decision. Hopkins is a great fighter with so many good attributes, he has a great chin, is intelligent, adaptable, has a proven track record against lefties and has great skill in neutralizing his opponents assets. Hagler will have to work hard to get this win but I can see him eventually asserting his will and outlanding Hoppo in the later rounds. Hagler, in his prime, was one of the most perfect fighter I have ever seen. It would be a great technical match however and I would want to be ringside.

Hopkins would turn it into a snorefest, could get exciting if Hagler can land some good shots. Would love to see B-hop being the man being pressed for once.

 

All this "Haglar would kill him" blah-blah-blah is absurd. The 30 hour weigh in rule changed everything. Hopkins, Taylor, and Pavlik were all freaking HUGE compared to the guys who fought under the same day weigh in rule. All 3 would be light heavyweights in Haglar's era. Marvin never showed any inclination to go anywhere near any light heavyweight, and for good reasons. Haglar routinely weighed 157 or so on the day of the fight. If he fought under the 30 hour weigh in rule, he would fight at 154.

 

Pretty good analysis.I still like Marvin's jab,footwork and workrate to take a decision.

 

Most of B-Hops best wins were over smaller fighters.As far as Hagler's best victories are concerned,they include these natural middleweights:"Bad" Bennie Briscoe,Bobby "Boogaloo" Watts,Willie "the Worm" Monroe,Eugene "Cyclone" Hart and "Sugar" Ray Seales.
