Hagler - Sibson, Marvin's Greatest Fight

I’ve always felt Sibson was his peak performance, but I wouldn’t argue against the first Hamsho fight

 

Marvin was really top of his game here. Poor Tony Sibo had the misfortune to get in the ring, with a version of Hagler like this.
Marvin was total destruction here.

 

Definitely Marvin's "Cleveland Williams" performance whereas like Muhammad Ali he puts on a boxing clinic even though Tony and Cleveland were n't their best opponents. Sibson was still one of the best middles in the world at that time though.

 

I remember this was the fight that put Marvin on the map by the press

but it wasnt until the Hearns fight that he won over the masses. For one, he avenged the terrible knockout loss by Duran

It took a real TOUGH GUY with balls the size of watermelons to do that, balls that the media and even today, fans say he doesnt have
