^^^ - Floyd clearly reminds him of SRL.

Been around the block and actually watched Hagler fight as a kid, not just on YouTube. The man was a great middleweight, and would be a tough out for anybody in boxing history AT MIDDLEWEIGHT. But that's where it ends - Middleweight.

Duran can talk about challenging yourself and moving up in weight. I still rank his match against Barkley as one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. Boxing brilliance. And that was a tough fight for Duran, make no mistake about it. Very hard on him physically taking on a man much larger than himself.

Hagler has zero room to talk on the subject.

You named 5 fights in 48 LOL Plus Maidana, Hatton = B level fighters overall, well Maidana more like C level, and Cotto was damaged goods. Castillo and Corrales I will give Floyd but those were like 13 years ago! lol
People aren't satisfied because he's been extremely selective of who he fights and when he fights them, and won't dare take on anyone that has momentum, are elite and prime. Say GGG lost once or twice the past year, but regained a belt. But just wasn't as impressive and people began to question how good he really was or said he was on the downward spiral. Now, you would see Floyd begin to consider him. That is exactly how he operates. If it's a legit threat, he simply won't go near them. He will wait them out, wait for someone else to get to them, see them look human, and then he's ready to jump on them. And it goes back to what I've been saying all along, Floyd won't dare take a fight where he isn't the glaring favorite, the last time he did that was vs Corrales, if that, 13 years ago! :patsch This isn't someone great, its a fighter with great skills who take on mediocre opposition where he's assured victory. Smart, yes. Great, NO.

that's all great except nobody is going to question Haglars resume. He fought alot of great fighers. Floyd hasn't and as of now, there's nobody in his class that's even worthwhile fighting. So retire of move the heck up and take on a legit challenge.

You can't question Floyd's resume either. He's clearly a top 30 ATG in my view. (Without getting overly specific about ranking) One of the best in boxing history. Boxing has been around for over 100 years..... If you're one of the best to ever lace them up, I'd say that means your resume is pretty good.

Just because he's not the GOAT, doesn't mean his resume is questionable. You don't have to be Roberto Duran to have a great resume.

And when it comes to the subject of "moving through multiple weight classes," you can ABSOLUTELY challenge Hagler's resume. Far more than you could ever challenge Floyd's. That's just keeping it honest, because Hagler didn't move up at all.

Hagler (if it's him) is just another fan with an opinion that is no better than anyone else's. When he makes statements, he opens himself up for criticism the same as the next man.

Agreed he was great and didn't move up I personally don't see a reason for Mayweather to move up and fight a guy like GGG either ..He's really a small guy plus GGG has other problems at his own weight class and above .

  8. :good He hasn't laced them up since 1987. He is a Legend, but not immune to hypocrisy. He started boxing in 1973 and didn't fight a known top guy until Duran ate his way up in 1983. If it was not for that he would of fought bums until Hearns in 1985. That's 12 years of bum fighting.

I wouldn't go that far. There's a huge middle ground between "known top guys" and "bums." Those Philly middleweights that he fought in hte 70s were no slouches. Neither was Roldan.

i think we all wish mayweather would take on a tough fight one of these years and actually win. mayweather's unanimous decision losses to maidana, castillo, and pacquiao tarnished mayweather's legacy almost beyond repair. hagler is right, mayweather needs a win over GGG or S.O.G to have any shot at all-time great induction.

I think you might live in an alternate universe. How are we both communicating on the same website?

Hagler was the man everyone wanted to fight I think that's what people fail to realize everyone basically chased him.. But when smaller guys like Marquez challenge Floyd it's ok right ? The double standards on both sides are hilarious .

when hagler fought, there was no super middleweight division, above his weight was 15 pounds.

thats 3 divisions at once in floyds/todays world

Hagler was all of 5 foot 9
very small middleweight, much like everyone says floyd is a little jr welter, little welter, little super welter :-(
