I think Leonard finally offered Hagler a rematch in 1990..which Hagler didnt take seriously and refused who in your humble opinions would have prevailed if it had happened?
it's hard to say as Leonard was still active, but after the hagler fight, his own abilities as a fighter were deteriorating and was not the same fighter. hagler was already past his prime when he fought leonard, many fans agree that is the only reason leonard decided to fight him then and not earlier, and their fight is still questionable as to who won. leonard beat hagler on speed and alot of shoeshining, impressing the judges, while hagler was the aggressor. i'd want to incline on leonard to win a rematch since he was active, but i don't think he had the same legs, speed, or power to earn hagler's respect in 1990, and being the toughest middleweight to walk the earth, i'd pick a frustrated hagler out for revenge to win by a clear decision or late round ko imo.
Well Leonard was still active but badly faded. Hearns had him down twice in 89 and Norris twice again in 91. But we cannot even guess who much past prime Hagler would have been in 90. He certainly had his share of tough, career shortening fights in his career..
I'm not prepared to vote on this, because there is too much of a question mark regarding how Hagler would have been by 1990. You can make the argument that Leonard was still active and Hagler had already faded by their first meeting, so Leonard would likely win the rematch. Or, you can argue that by this point Leonard was less mobile, less legs on him, and Hagler would find it easier to track him down.
