    Haven't seen this one.

Rodrigo Valdez v Marvin Hagler prime for prime, who do you like?

I like Hagler. Hagler could hang on the inside with Valdez and probably even prosper by being busier and more precise. But he could also choose to outbox Valdez for stretches of the fight. Valdez needs a KO which is highly unlikely. Tough styles matchup for Valdez.

I like Hagler too. I think this one would be a lot like Hagler-Hamsho I. One hell of a fight between two strong guys but I think Marvin takes it late through his superior skills.

Hagler by unanimous decision. Hagler would respect Valdez's power, but he had the ability to box and he would...and he has enough power to get Valdez's respect as well.

This. When they fight it´s 50/50 but Hagler has the faster feet and better footwork which enables him to win rounds by boxing Valdes and this decides the fight. The stretches when they actual fight would be awesome.

Why would there be any such stretches? I'd expect Hagler to win basically every round by boxing whilst Valdez waddles after him getting peppered by jabs. Hagler's not going to voluntarily stand in there toe to toe with somebody that he lopsidedly trumps in terms of tools, footwork and general class on the outside. Saying Valdez would do well on the inside would be like saying that Margarito would do well on the inside against Ray Leonard.

Hagler's got too many facets here while Valdez lacks the versatility and diversity to shake him up. Good matchup for Hagler. Comfortable decision.

Prime for prime I see this shaping up a lot like the Mugabi fight, even though Hagler was past his prime for that fight, Valdez is a way better fight.

Great match up. I will go with Hagler, since Valdez carreer was shortened by drug use, and he lost in biggest fight of carreer, while in his prime, to Monzon. It would be hell of a fight, and while I pick Hagler, Valdez would not be without chance to win.

Because Valdez was good enought to make Hagler fight there at times. Just not good enough to keep him there for most of the time.

Lots of good posts on this one, I just agree with yours the most. Chances are good Valdez would hit home with one of his TNT right hands but Hagler had one of the all time great chins.

Marvin would win a unanimous decision over Rodrigo. He would use his boxing ability to keep him at a distance, and if Valdez has that opportunity to crack, then Marvin would just take, and keep up the pressure.
