nothing thunderous about the shots leonard threw against hagler. calzaghe had enough to keep workrate to keep hagler off him and enough power to put him off balance unable to land shots. thats all leonard did ^^ if leonard really sat down on his punches he could of atleast stunned hagler, but no way was he gonna do that, and nor would joe, difference being here, leonard probably has the quickest feet in history and could evade more than joe.

haglers face disagrees with you, the man was in shades for the post fight conference, and when he removed them he was clearly hurt. besides this was hardly prime marvin.

joe had workrate but not the power.

what you haven't mentioned is that joe had a good chin which he used to soak up punches rather than being skilled at evading them, his defence was middling. Hagler would connect continuously, until Joe couldn't take no more, very late in the fight.

You seem to forget Leonard fought an old Hagler, not the Hagler that destroyed Minter ...

Instead of ***** slapping the moronic fool for 20 seconds each round as per Leonard, Joe would have ***** slapped him for 120 seconds per round with his speed and accuracy.

Hagler would have had NO physical advantages, and would have been embarassed. Luckily for him, he was too old, too small, and too stupid to have faced Calzaghe.

Hagler did EVERYTHING better than Calzaghe. One is possibly the greatest middleweight in history, the other fought Peter Manfredo ffs! Hagler would kick the living **** out of Calzaghe!

    You said it. MIDDLEWEIGHT.

Joe was bigger, stronger, faster, and far more accurate than the soppy LITTLE *******.

Joe would throw combinations that a limited plodder like Hagler wouldn't even see much less answer. So where you get your stupid " Hagler did everything better than Joe " from I can only assume must have been Disneyland or Hollywood, or some such fantasy land.

    Joe via easy UD

Then I wake up and realise it's all been a nonsensical dream. Hagler has decapitated Joe at the end of round 4 and Joe's corner are frantically trying to sew his head back on between rounds. Once his head is back on they get the smelling salts out but that does nothing. So they shovel some cocaine up his shnozzer and before you know it Joe is ready to rock and roll. Round 5 and Joe is once again decapitated. Once again his corner have the sewing needle out etc etc

In a battle of great southpaws, Calzage's speed and movement win him a close UD

    Exactly.

This so called super destroyer who is easily gonna handle the naturally bigger, stronger, faster Calzaghe, couldn't even convincingly beat the blown up 135 pounder Roberto Duran, needing to pull out the stops in the last 2 rounds to nick it.

Idiot Yank fanboys make you wanna puke.

I do not know why so many people think Calzaghe is going to win a decision.

He fought 2 great fighters, one of the past prime and the other shot... and he was down both times. Even if Hagler does not KO/TKO him, there is a good chance Joe will meet canvas on a couple of occasions, and every times it happens it is 10:8 round for Hagler. And judging by Hopkins fight, it is far from guaranteed that he wins all the remaining rounds.

Though I would rather bet on Hagler finalle getting KO/TKO.
