How do you guys think Marvin Hagler would do against Bob Fitzsimmons and Sam Langford at Middleweight?
Dunno. Could Hag's chin hold up against their power, Fitzies' traps and Sam's pteradactyl reach? I still don't believe any middle knocks Hagler out. Toney for that matter as well.
His chin could definitely be the deciding factor if he approaches both fights defensively minded. It could come down to one punch that he stands up to, where his chin saves him, and allows him to win on points. I don't think his chin would be enough to fight his normal style. He would have to use his feet constantly. He has excellent balance on the back foot, evidenced by his form, which means he could augment his outside-speed-mobility aspects of his style, while putting less eggs into the baskets of fighting in the pocket, trading on the inside, and using his chin as a momentum swinger to stay in punching range during and after an attack. I think he basically needs to take his own unique approach to the kinds of adjustments Canelo made for Golovkin. But Hagler being Hagler, I can also see him shocking the world by staying on the inside, and using his craft and toughness round after round and somehow pulling it off. I just find it less likely!
