IMO.The best short Big anticapated fight was the war between these legends. It was really something looking forward to the fight & then for them to come out and battle like that was fantastic, short but not a disappointment.

Too short for my taste. I mean it was a good 3 round fight but i like the longer fights. I like them to either last 12 rounds. Well anytime that it ends from the 10th on is good.

That was the best short fight ever in my opinion.

it was an explosive fight, that had what most people were looking for. 2 big names, very hyped, media driven, widely veiwed, good action and a good finnish...but there are many fights 5 rds and under to compare with in terms of performance and action...but the names and the hype are certainly difficult for others to measure up to!!!

dempsey vs Willard remains my favorite!
Gomez vs zarate (gets my runner up)
Zarate vs zamora (rounds out my top 3)
    Foreman vs Lyle
    Hearns barkley I, was good
    Duran vs cuevas
    Navarette vs Boza edwards
Frazier vs ellis I (could just be the nostalgia)
    Gatti vs ruelas
    Hamed vs kelly
    Tyson vs Holmes
Liston vs Williams I (2 wasn't bad either)
    Mccallum vs jackson
    Norris vs brown I
    Olivares vs Rose

These are just a few, I certainly rate other fights on par with hagler hearns in terms of action and performance...but will concede that the big names and hype will be difficult for other fights to measure up to!!!

well it was a very publisized fight, but i loved kendall holt-ricardo torres II, even though it was nowhere near the magnitude of hagler-hearns. i still think the greatest fight ever, plus finish is castillo-corrales I. every time i see that it's still fresh.

It certainly is up there.Watched it again the other day.Absolutely tremedous action, both guys took huge shots.

I do think Dempsey-Firpo is on par with it though.

The first round was unbelievable, but Hagler took over in the 2nd round and the 3rd round was only interesting because of the possibility of cuts stopping the fight, but it was a very uneven round obviously.

If Dempsey-Firpo was available to watch in the quality of film that Hagler-Hearns is, there would be no argument.

It was a **** fight....MMA before its time.

Hearns fought stupidly, had he fought like he is capable of, he would have had the title. I don't know why people think it was so great....even the action was just wild swinging....who hits who first.

Easily best short fight ever. It is hard to ever imagine two fighters swining from the first bell. Best fight ever with the two top names in the sport and the best round ever easily. The ironic thing was this was the most reckless start to a fight ever. I am still amazed at that first round almost 25 years after it happened.
