I think the Hagler vs Hearns was my preferred but the Barkley vs Benn fight was no joke.....in fact Benn was rarely not in an exciting fight and alot of fun to watch. If I remember right Benn was a paratrooper who had been in northern Ireland during the issues there what a life

Not even...Barkley got his ass kicked easily by Benn. Poor stoppage by Padilla but Benn still probably would have ended it shortly after. Benn was like a pissed off Wolverine. Benn had true grit. He didn't fear anyone, and if you couldn't put him away early he'd keep coming at you. Benn / Hearns was the fight I wanted to see!

    Agree. Should've been a DQ.

Benn vs, Barkely, because Hagler-hearns is forever tainted for me by the fact (if it is indeed a fact) that Hearns broke his and in the second round, and I already knew this the first time I watched it. Sorry, but if one fighter breaks his hand that early in (again, assuming this isn't a fictional excuse) then the results are just completely moot.

If not for that fatal flaw it would have been an absolutely ****ing phenomenal, once a decade kind of fight.

In terms of pure action, Benn-Barkley was every bit as exciting as Hagler-Hearns round 1. The main difference was the level and profile of the fighters and also the expectation. The way Hagler started against Hearns was not what people were expecting in a super fight like that. Benn coming out and trying to take Barkley's head off with every punch was somewhat less surprising although no less thrilling.
