Hagler vs Hopkins @ 160 lbs

Tough call. So called "Prime" Hopkins was not as cagey as old BHop. Marvin was known to srew the pooch a few times. As long as Haglar doesn't take rounds off like he did in Antefurmo I, or use totally the wrong approach like he did in the first 4 rounds with SRL, I think he'd win a close decision.

 

I think Hagler would have schooled BHop.Hagler beat some all time greats and feared nobody,he would fight for every minute of every round.BHop could not have lived with Haglers pressure.

Hagler beat some ATG lightweights and Welterweights. Hopkins is not some 5'7 former lightweight or some chinny former Welterweight. Hopkins would have a big time size advantage to go along with his excellent skillset. Nobody schools Nard, especially not Hagler. Hagler would never be able to outbox Nard. He would have to take the fight to him and Nard would be ready for it.

i think you're confusing the 40+ year old Hopkins with the prime, hungry, animal Hopkins

also, theres no way in hell Hopkins gets "schooled", losing is one thing, but a schoolage is another....he's far too clever and foxy to get schooled by any1, and i'm not even that big of a fan of his

Well please refresh my memory with a list of the all time greats BHop has beaten ? BHop is a spoiler,always has been.

 

I just found out it's The City of Brotherly Love.......and there was me thinking that was the name for San Francisco!:smooch

 

Trinidad and Hoya. They've both made a name beating smaller guys. However, I'm not foolish enough to believe that Hopkins would win based off of him beating a couple of ATGs who made their names two divisions below Hopkins.

 

Im not speaking of a 40+ BHop,the late 70's and early 80's was THE era of great welters and middleweights and that is the measuring stick im using to compare these two.Hagler was unstoppable during his reign and i still dont see a prime BHop have anything to trouble Hagler.BHop is a spoiler and if you study any of the fights where he has been under any pressure he's spoiled,Hagler was a fighter.:good

You should just realsie how good Marvellous Marvin was in his day ... he doesnt get enough credit for me when you talk about all time greats becos he is up there with anyone you mention .... a class act !
