I think Hagler wins by UD, Marvin is 1 guy that B-Hop couldnt out-tough or rough-up so that leaves B-Hop with 1 option... to outbox him but Hagler was a mighty fine boxer too & could at least hang with Hops in a tactical fight... I think it would be Haglers constant pressure that would enable him to out-score Hopkins, I also see Hops taking the more hurtfull punches but without coming close to seeing canvas.

    Hagler UD Hopkins.

I think the TS meant... `who would YOU see winning` as opposed to what the `judges might do`

Forget judges, they are a pain in the ass enough in real life fights, lets leave the fat incompitent ****s out of the fantasy fights.

    Hopkins by a narrow decision.

Despite what people say about his pressure, Hagler was first and foremost a boxer-puncher, and that's how he fought for the great majority of his career. He'd probably approach this fight with the same boxing style, and look to apply his jab (which was superior to Hopkins's jab). Hagler had pretty good defense as he parried shots well, and could slip them effectively. He's not going to slip all of them though, as Hopkins is great at getting that straight right hand in against lefties. Up close, Hagler was a terrific in-fighter. Hopkins was effective at using "spoiling" tactics up close, tying up with one arm and hitting with the other, knowing where to position his body to make him harder to tag but able to dish it out. Hopkins has a natural size advantage as he was a MW in an era of different weigh-ins, while Hagler wasn't an especially big MW despite his stocky build, even weighing in at 156-157 for a defense during the same-day weigh-in.

I don't really have a problem with people picking either guy. But I have to disagree with those who don't think it'd be a competitive fight. This would be a competitive one, even if it turns too tactical. But often when this topic comes up, people talk about Hopkins being someone who never throws punches, or Hagler being some pressuring brawler...it's obvious they need to watch more of each fighter.

    Hagler........UD...........

    Brutal fight.

Hagler was the more complete package.........power,stamina,smooth skills, iron chin, good defence, the works........

Hops has alot, but not all of it......

And Hagler could put it all together, use what he needed.....dance,box and punch, war inside, take two to give one.....whatever it took,he had it........

    Best Ive ever seen...........

It also speaks volumes that Hopkins never talks about this matchup with anything other than complete respect for who Hagler was and what he would have brought to the table. I've seen at least two different interviews where he says it would probably have been the kind of fight where neither one would be the same going forward.

I've heard one of those interviews. Hopkins said Hagler was one of his idols.

Apparently he has too much respect for Hagler to say he thinks he would beat Hagler, which I'm sure he thinks he would, and vice versa.
