Brilliant article about Leonard v Hagler, I didn`t know Ray`s life was such a mess after he retired in the early 80`s. The ghosts of two sex abusers, one of them an Olympic boxing coach in whose hands he believed lay his destiny of a gold medal in Montreal in 1976, came back to haunt him and he was unable to exercise them from his mind. Leonard became the male Oprah Winfrey as he got older. I would take his "experiences" with a grain of salt.
Yes. When YOUR wife flushes your cocaine, land the left hook after the right hand you just smashed her in the face with after a night of drugs and serial adultery. Oh yeah, don't forget to completely ignore yr first 2 children the rest of their lives when you exit with your latest bimbo. "Quite naturally!"
I’m talking about the fact that the man had problems.... and got help for those problems....he made mistakes and learned from them
This was a sad disgraceful nite for boxing and sport in general. An honorable decent man and great champion got fouled into Bolovian! As the great Mike Gerard Tyson would say. Hagler was never given anything. One of the most brilliant displays of fouling in boxing history. Leonard mixed up his fouls like a true master. A couple shots to the jewels, some holding and hitting, a few shots after the bell, some quick punches on every break. That was all in just the first 6 or 7 rounds.
Otis Nixon was perhaps the ugliest man on the planet besides Lou Duva and Sam Cassell and Hedo Turkalou but at least he didn't beat the **** out of her.
