Thats easy to say. Hagler had his chance and didn't take it. Haglers decline in the last couple of years prior to theLeonard fight was clear, who's to say how further he would have slipped in the 9 months leading up to the rematch while Leonard, who had been inactive proir to the first fight, had had the chance to shake the ring rust off and get used to boxing in world class again before any rematch.

They talk about it even more when the guy that loses crys like baby.

The fight was not that close Leonard won a close, but clear decision imo. Ive never scored the fight Hagler and ive tired to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he lost.

..............****, that's nothing. The Japanese judge in the Hagler-Duran fight scored SIX rounds even. Granted, that was a 15-rounder, but........

I'm not about to make excuses for Hagler. A true professional should be ready for every fight and perform consistently. In the few rounds where he did perform well, Leonard had no answer. The only reason Leonard won any rounds is because Hagler gave them to him. I seriously doubt that any amount of training or preparation would have gotten Leonard ready for Hagler.

I think that was prime Hagler at his best.

His problem was that the ring was too big and that problem was even exacerbated by the fact that Leonard boxed and moved around fluidly.

The other way to look at it is that Hagler couldn't beat an inactive Leonard. With Hagler slipping fast and Leoanrd having had that one fight under his belt, the rematch could well have been a more convincing win for Leonard.

I have watched this fight many times & this is my final card & score.....

    Rd1 - Leonard
    rd2 - Leonard
    rd3 - Leonard
    rd4 - Leonard
    rd5 - Hagler
    rd6 - Leonard (close)
    rd7 - Hagler
    rd8 - Hagler
    rd9 - Hagler (close)
    rd10 - Hagler (close)
    rd11 - Leonard
    rd12 - Leonard (close)

There were more than 4 close rds but the ones marked as close were the hardest ones to choose that required watching on more than one occassion.

    115-113 Leonard

    :good

I've only watched it once and scored it 115-113 leonard. The fight was clearer than I expected after all I'd heard, i think Leonard definitely deserved to win.
