Yes, but as you said, weightclasses exist for a reason If we are to assume that Hagler would be allowed to rehydrate, why make this match-up altogether? Of course he then has the highest chance of winning; he is a middleweight and one of the best at that. The weight advantage would not be fair anyway
Threads like this aren’t that interesting. Making it, did you really think anyone would choose Mayweather?
Tony made Floyd literally **** himself in fear when he faced him. he'd have had a litter of kittens if it was Marvin facing him
Floyd could pull it off. Hagler got outboxed by a shot Leonard. Floyd could potshot him to a UD. Hagler's not used to that level of defensive prowess and he was kind of a plodder. He certainly plodded vs Leonard. Floyd does not need to damage Hagler, just avoid him. He made a career of doing that.
I don't know, there is just a large history of good small guys beating good big guys, so it would be unfair to predict a massacre. You have Roy Jones who became an heavyweght champion, Chris Byrd who dealt with monster heavyweights (Byrd started at 168 pounds), you have Canelo KO against Kovalev. Just to name a few everyone knows of. Hagler is big but it is no David against Goliath either. That said, I was never very impressed with the big 4, just had a flash here, Hearns swinging his right hand almost off balance. Way too much wild shots and not so good defense, except Leonard. Count me with those who think Money Mayweather would win this because in a real fight the catchweight, timing and element in the contract would probably favor Floyd as well. The referee can also be a pain in the butt for Hagler. And Mayweather is just too smart. Hagler would eat precise shots all night and be more passive. Prediction : Hagler loses and his fans scream the fight was rigged.
I can't believe there's six ******s who actually pick Floyd. I'm fairly certain that the OP implied that Hagler made weight safely. I certainly think Hagler could make 150 safely, hell, I don't doubt whether he could make 147. Hagler from Watts II onward pummels Floyd. Floyd has no chance to 'potshot him to a UD'. And @Babality, prime Hagler was no plodder. He needed to walk Hearns down, and then he got a taste for it.
No I'm a friend & also a supporter of a good honest FIGHTER!! If he was offered I'm certain Tony would have taken the Hagler fight & put up a good FIGHT!!! One thing for certain he would NEVER QUIT!!!!!
I agree margo didn't care about much else . he was a fighter that gave everything in the ring. He had heart for 12 full rounds . always entertaining
