Roy had real problems with Hopkins in the last 4 or 5 rounds of his 12 rounder with him. Marvin Hagler is a much bigger problem than Bernard Hopkins . Roy slows down after 8 to 10 rounds and has to fight , he gets stopped in 12 or 13

Did against McCallum to be fair in the first 4 or 5, but then that was McCallum!

Duran 1983 & Hearns 1985 were imo faster than srl 1987....Hagler handled their speed okay...Hagler admitted Durans reflexes and hand speed suprised him.

Hagler was slightly smaller. But weaker? Nice joke, jones was very fragile actually, he was athletic but he had thin frame, Hagler was more solid.
Roy jones jr never was a real lhw like moorer, spinks or Foster. He was naturally a smaller guy packed of added muscle, but he did not have lhw frame. He was a super mw

Jones was a phenomenally gifted fighter, gifted physically ,but I didn't think much of his technique, or his jab which should be the cornerstone of every fighter who isnt a swarmer.
I think Jones lack of fundamentals began to show as his reflexes eroded a bit,and unlike other unorthodox boxers ,[Ali] he didnt have the durability to compensate when the holes in his game were exposed. I'm aware my opinion will be decidedly in the minority ,but there it is.
Hagler was old school solid in every department, not flashy but technically accomplished.I like him to break Jones down.

Roy was the bigger man. He may perhaps stop Semi Marvelous Marvin

Why everyone talk about Marvin Hagler like he was a real fighter?

Oh McVey. I love ye McVey. But Roy would ROYALLY (get it, ROYALLY) beat Marvin Hagler.

The pick here is Marvin by KO, via the right hook of course

It changed over then. I recall Jones being described as actually weighing ~ 15 lbs. more than the SMW limit on fight night.
