    Reg, I know, that is why I asked lol. He could've given up the title and fought Cotto for the money... but as he said, he loved his WBO title, and he didn't want to give it up without a fight.

    Arum tried to persude Margo to give up the belt and fight another soft opponent to setup a Cotto fight that year. Antonio chose, against Arum's wishes, to fight Williams so that he could go into the fight with a belt on the line. In the end though, MArgo vetoed Arum's advice and acted of his own accord. He can do the samething now.

    Check out this quote from DiBella;

    "I'm not comfortable with putting in a fighter, who's had a very short career, with a much more experienced fighter, who by the way Berto would have to jump on a foot stool to fight eye to eye. And that's my decision, not Berto's."

    You guys are crazy if you think these fighters have much control over whom they fight. Fighters can turn down fights but it's hard for them to fight guys their promoter doesn't want them to fight.

    He could only veto Arum, because it was a mandatory defense. In a non mandatory situation, Margo doesn't have that luxury.

    One could easily argue that Margo should buy out his contract and go somewhere else.

    We all saw what Mayweather did :deal :lol:

    If Margo wants to man up he should try to buy himself out of a contract.

    Arum is holding him back from taking a risk.

    That is bogus, quit trying to rewrite history. Paul won 7 clear rounds, Margarito only won 1 round going away. I had the fight 8 -4 P-Will, like one judge, the other judges scored it 7 -5. The fight was domination, Paul imposed his will.

    If Margo is Mayweather's daddy, then P-will is Margo's pimp. He has his ***** turning down tricks and hiding behind bushes, just so he doesn't have to meet him face to face.

    Arum plans to take legal action to prevent the Margarito-Williams bout from taking place. He will name Margarito, his managers and Goossen as defendants.
