Interesting to see Big Reg actually keeping the Haters in check here with some actual facts. For some reason they don't seem to understand that just because Margarito is with Top Rank, it doesn't mean that his camp and Bob Arum are always in lock step with each other. The first Margarito-Williams fight and the politics involved in making that come off should be evidence enough of that. Fighters are fighters and promoters are bull**** artists. That's their job, to hype their fighters and protect their own interests. Arum is no saint. Neither is Goosen. And this **** between them happened like 4 months ago which is a lifetime in promoter years (their attitudes and opinions change with the wind and with the size of the purse) so why weren't you talking about it then? I feel that the only reason this is being discussed now is an attempt to deflect the criticism the poster and other haters flung at Margarito for not taking the Mosely fight, which now seems ridiculous since he's now taken it after working out the financial issues. The article he's referenced, after all, is about Margarito and Mosely agreeing to fight.

 

Good post:good There was a time , not that long ago that I wanted to just quit ESB forever because of some of these people here with their Magarito praise/ Mayweather bashing. The praise is one thing but it seemed as if the praise and bashing were one in the same. It became sickening.

It makes ABSOULTly zero sense to me how someone can make countless threads about a guy ( to bash the hell out of him ) just so that they have a reason to praise another. Baffles the mind really.

Margarito and his people will not take a fight against PTP in the foreseeable future because they are well aware that Margarito will probably be beaten which would screw up the momentum that he has gained after beating Cintron and Cotto. Margarito is enjoying his current position at the perceived best welter and he will continue to bask in his glory for as long as possible which means he will only pursue big money fights in which he maintains his physical advantages.

 

Why don't you give me a specific example of what my hating was? Or just one you remember. Please, I would love to hear this. But I 'm pretty sue you won't say ****, as they never do. Love to call someone a hater, but can't say anything more.

Maybe you need to learn the difference between arguing what some obvious nuthugger claim, and actual hating on a fighter. basically, I can't refute what nuthuggers claim w/o being a hater, is that it?

 

It's obvious what Arum wants, and thats not for any his fighters to face Williams. He knows Williams can beat them all and it's not worth risking.
