how good is this bloke going? last night he totally outclassed a more experienced fighter with a very good record, from a respected boxing country. which means he has probably really earned his 20 wins from 21 fights...(now 20 from 22)

wille near pulled off a shutout, and never looked in trouble. willie delivers PAIN, every time i see him fight. he bashed that bloke last night, and looks ready to face world champs already...and why not. if your'e good enough, youre old enough.

he may not have the hype, of mundine but he has the talent and the tools to become even better than the well skilled 'man'.....

No more easy fights. In his Div Mexican are the realness.Real strong and tough sons of a gun those Mehikanos ( loco). He looked pretty good, I think at the top of tree of the 130 and 135 divsion his lack of power mite be his undoing, he will develop his skill as a boxer but his power will not really improve that much in the future. I was impressed with last night.

Am i the only one not impressed at all? He fights like a crab, he's not that accurate and all his punches are arm punches, i think he's the most overrated fighter i've ever seen. Commentators and people say he is fast, he doesn't even twist his waist when he punches, he mostly throws little slaps, everyone can look fast doing that. He's a KO victim waiting to happen, someone soon is just gonna walk straight through him.

    Im not impressed.

He aint world class yet and i truely doubt he ever will be.Good domestic fighter but St Clair showed why he will never be a world beater.

    Maybe win the WBF title.

I see what you mean by arm punches, i noticed that he does flick out arm punches at times. I think he needs to sharpen up his defence a little.

Be interesting to see how much he improves over the years.

Yeah I agree that from a technical perspective it does look like he's made a lot of concessions in the power department to get that quick whippy style, particularly by not commting with the hips. And I agree that it's easy to look quick doing pitter-patter punches. And there is defintely the possibility that someone good is going to walk through those punches. But sometimes guys have more power than they should based on their technique. And sometimes landing a lot of quick punches and good movement and defence can negate the lack of power. There's still a lot of things that really impress me about the way he boxes, but I see what you're saying and I just hope his punches are heavier than they look. I reckon he'll do all right amongst the big boys.

looks like an OK domestic prospect, with the potential to be an OK local fighter. On the elite level far, very far from that and the deal closer is he has no power. That will keep him from going far. He seems destined to have the most potential as an OK local fighter, who may challenge or maybe even win a local title. Not the second coming of Fenech or Tszyu by a long shot.

That's how i feel, i didn't think people round here had a realistic opinion about the guy, seems everyone is keen on comparing him to Mundine. This week in the west australian paper they even made a comparison to Usain Bolt ffs:lol:
