Maidana and Limond are polar opposites I suppose. Limond actually is a good boxer, he just doesn't have the strength or punch resistance at world class, as well as having no power to discourage fighters. Really getting outboxed by Limond is an example of what I'm talking about, Limond actually looked faster and lighter on his feet than Morales and its the feet that go south for aging fighters. Whereas he didn't have to go looking for Maidana who presented a lot of obvious mistakes.

Gloves don't make as much difference as people are claiming. Morales was never out on his feet, even when he was hurt Maidana was not even close to finishing him so unless you're saying Maidana would have knocked him out cold, which he's never actually done at world class, I don't think it would of changed the result. And infact, whos to say Morales wouldn't have knocked Maidana out if this was the logic? Maidana was hurt to the head far more than he was against Khan. His stamina was worse than the Khan fight, he was there to be taken out himself and he was hurt numerous times.

Boxing Monthly mentioned it aswell as a couple of sites, i know hes got a couple of businesses (refuse 1 if i recall) lets hope he's fighting for pride/honour/love of the sport **** if there was anyone who'd do it for free it'd be him and a few of his mexican counterparts tbh.

Great card and give Sky credit for showing it

    TFFP I agree 100% :good

Morales can't have too many more grinders than this, and appears to be too sluggish of feet to compete with one of the more stylish fighters at 140.

If he can make it, Erik Vs Humberto would be a top-notch fight as well IMO. Hopefully JMM and Morales can get to it soon and give them both a bit of closure as they wind down their careers.

Firstly i want to saulte Erik Morales for a performance of heart, skill and passion. The man loves this sport and loves to fight and showed me everything i already knew about Maidana.

Got to laugh at a graphic which HBO showed saying Maidana's strengths included ''Ring Intelligence''.

Erik showed some sublime skills and one instance he made Maidana miss epically with the shoulder roll. I wasn't really scoring but felt a draw would of been fair i think 116-112 was to far out.

Sky never cease to amaze me when they say Maidana's final round won him the fight. Ermm no lads Maidana was already 3 up you div's!

The gloves issue to me is utter bollocks. Morales hurt Maidana with a left hook and had him buzzed for a good 4 seconds with him looking to hold and let's face it i cannot see how gloves can make you miss so badly.

Erik has seen it all before so he was calm and didn't make the errors Khan did like circling to Maidana's looping right hand etc.

I haven't seen the Katsidis fight as i feel asleep then woke up in time to watch El Terrible. I give Guerrero major props and shows i don't know **** about Boxing . Well done to him..i'm sure Katsdis will be back again though.

Kirkland well....i posted a video in the Choi thread a couple of weeks ago and me and Wallet both agreed on him being a accident waiting to happen. I had hopes for the kid but i gave up when he refused to box way in and was getting shaken. I wasn't shocked by this last night when his last fight he was buzzed in first round.

He was a slick AM i heard.......time for him to drop back to LMW if he can and get in with a world class trainer and work on his game or he be going up his own arse soon enough.

Paulie M you still got the speed son :happy

Everyone on here picked Kat, everyone loves him thats why

You've always gotta think carefully about picking that guy against a good southpaw. Or really anyone that can hit angles and has handspeed. Especially southpaws though. Shows how far Kevin Mitchell is away from world class really.

    roach is making excuses.

gloves make minimal difference if any, they are more to protect a fighters hand than anything else, morales was able to stun maidana with the same gloves.

Yep spot on mate. I seen Robert before and never been taken by him but your right the angles etc. Yep i thought that right away Mitchell was blown away badly and shows a major gap between him and world class. Michael should now stick to brawlers/pressure fighters. It suits him down to ground and hopefully he will capture title.

Maidana must be the most "TV friendly" fighter out there.

6 of his last 7 fights have been terrific!

Kotelnik, Ortiz, Cayo, Corley (shocker!), Khan and of course Morales.

Please don't anyone teach the dude defence!
