I've got a lot of time for Matthew - I once won £1200 betting on him to stop Bradley Pryce, but without checking boxrec that was probably his last stoppage victory.

I dont know what else he can do in life, I know he has a family to support but he's really stopped looking dangerous since those days.

I remember when he looked a real KO artist, he knocked out Kerry Hope in 3/4 rounds & had a real run of exciting victories but now looks stale.

As for the fight at the weekend, it wasnt a robbery, it was very close - I watched it without any commentary & actually thought it could have gone either way....think you'd have to be pretty biased 1 way or the other to claim a robbery in terms of result (though scoring was iffy).

As for the Webb fight, Webb won that - from memory I think Boxing News had it to Webb decisively as well.

Think we have to be careful claiming close fights to be robbery.

Matt actually said that against Webb he or his corner hadnt realised it was a 12 round fight & got a big shock when the 11th round sounded.

If he carries on...rematch, maybe? but cant see a big clamour to see that fight again imho.

 

100% Matt deserves the rematch, the fight should be made at lightmiddle I know Matt & Arnie want the fight so lets see if Spike has the balls to take it ?

Yeah, wrong decision in my eyes, had Hall up by afew rounds, alot of close ones in there though. Really feel for Matty Hall, seems like a top lad.

 

Hall needs to change his style, we all know he's very good at going on the inside and throwing punches but after being at his fight against Sam Webb, many of his punches do little or no damage. He doesn't sit down on his flurries, he throws them and when they land there's no real impact.

There's some zip that's been lost in them, maybe he just needs a bit more time in the gym and work on setting himself instead of just going wild. I think timing is also an issue.

Saying that, I had the Webb fight a draw and Hall beating Spike by a couple of rounds. He's just been unlucky.

Someone above mentioned that he's mates with Paul Smith, If he wants to continue, maybe he should try Joe Gallagher's gym.
Seems a good camp there & might get him fired up again.

 

You talk about Matt maybe not having the hunger for the game if Matt had any more hunger he would be a ****kking canibal, Matt took the fight at middleweight he then bossed the fight from the 1st bell and by 99% of the posters opinions he won the fight clearly :good
