Ruddock was totally telegraphing the jab to the body and then doing a miserable job of executing the move. If that was part of the the fight plan, they should have painted a bullseye on his left temple while they wrapped his hands.

Bowe's team actually made an offer to Lennox Lewis. Lewis's camp declined. Then they made a second offer to Lewis that would have netted him a career high (at the time) $11 million plus PPV points. Lewis's camp declined a second time. Then they accepted the offer only for Rock Neuman to pull it from the table. Which led to the lawsuit, which resulted in the WBC threatening to strip Bowe if a fight can't be made only for Bowe to dump the belt in the trash shortly before he was about to get stripped anyway.

Bowe ends up losing to Holyfield. Lewis to McCall. The fight fizzled but caught some buzz in '95 after the rubber match with Evander Holyfield only for Golota to permanently end the matter. I think Bowe would have beaten him in '92-94 but anytime from '96 onwards its all Lewis.

As for the thread? Great Win for Lewis. He caught him early and closed the show. You can arguably make a point that Ruddock left a bit in the ring during his 19 rounds with Mike Tyson but Lewis was (as we now know) the better fighter anyway.

Count me in. Shocked to see how quickly he dismantled Razor.

In the barber shop on weekends most had the alibi that Tyson took everything out of Ruddock, so he wasn't the same. Ruddock, then left the ring for over a year & struggled in his loss against Morrison made me think that was possibly true. As Lewis toyed with Morrison.

Even more shocked to see how Lewis struggled against Bruno, to which Tyson 2nd fight dispatched like lego blocks so I thought his win over Ruddock was a fluke. Time proved that Lennox would rule for awhile.

While time also proved that Tyson's inability to stop Ruddock is what made me think Donovon was a solid fighter. Lennox proved otherwise.

Only one problem here: Lewis classic(power) ko ratio looks mediocre.Sorry but his Mason(cut),McCall(mental problem ) and Vitali K.(cut) kos were nothing to do with power and these fights degrade Lewis' power ko percentage dramaically . True Lewis could ko shot fighters or fighters with questionable chin by power but when his opponent showed a remarkable toughness and chin Lewis' power wasn't impressive (Holyfield 2x,Mavrovic,Tua,Mercer ,V. Klitschko, or the bum Dan Murphy fights).

He was like a bigger version of Jimmy Young but with noticeably less power wasn't he.
