Just throwing this one into the mixer really. I know that our boy Ricky is no where near as much of a d*ckhead as Hamed was, but taking into consideration that Hatton is pretty unreliable with regards weight and treating his body like $hit between fights, can any body else map out a possible resemblance between Hatton and Hamed for Rickys next fight?? When i say this i mean the fact that both Hatton and Hamed got schooled over in the states ( Hatton had to fight the ref for the majority aswell though in my opinion) but then for Hameds return fight in the UK, looked like crap, and suddenly lost the magic to his boxing skill, losing all his fans by the end of this one fight. I know the fans wont turn against Ricky but boxing wise, does any body else feel it could go fairly pear shaped for him. I'm hoping and preying the old Ricky comes back and crushes him!
Hatton is just milking the cow at this point. Any fire he had went away with what 40million dollar paycheck
Good point. Could happen, Lazcano at his best isnt someone you'll have an easy time against in a come back fight and Malignaggi isnt someone to look past stylewise for Ricky if you ask me. Ricky has stated he wont be fighting to much longer hasnt he?? So maybe he is setting it up for that. I think Ricky's prospect are bit brighter though. I mean Hamed was a great fighter and thought he was to, and it just tore him apart when he got spanked by MAB. He couldnt contemplate life where he was loosing and I dont think he could be arsed working his way up again. Ricky seems a little more down to earth and I think will take his loss a little better because a few more fights, he will be back into the superfights and the super $$$.
yeah he must have made a good fair old wedge, i wouldnt be suprised if Ricky has earned more though, especially with his last pay check coming through!!
I found an article that says Naz made 5 million pounds in 2001, which is the year he fought MAB and the only fight he had that year. That surely would have been one of his biggest pay checks. Plus I found two more that put his career earnings at around 30 million pounds. Ricky has probably made that in his last 6 fights.
pharaoh, thats a bit of a ridiculous comment,i had never seen hatton so hungry as he was in that fight, the question is however,is he hungry anymore, fighting lazcano surely doesnt conjure up the same feeling for him as fighting pbf of JLC!or maybe hatton is now driven by that one big last victory or cleaning out the division,we just dont know lads, but i for one will be very interested in seeing how it unfolds.
i also believe that ricky's career is going down. he hasn't looked good since beating zoo. and now with all the money, and the weight difference. can't be good. he will probably look good against laczano, but mallignagi? i think that can be the end of the magic. paullie is a very good fighter, and i really see that as a 50/50 fight, if ricky still has the desire. when he doesn't have full desire, he is ****ed imo. for him i hope he won't fight paulie, but oscar( if oscar floyd II doesn't come off, which seems to be likely). he'll probably have more chance against oscar, and the money will be crazy. and if he wins,.. there is another 7 figure paycheck ahead of him
I think Hatton has probably made more cash than Hamed, either that or he is better at saving it than Naz is! I think Naz made a lot out of Frank Warren, but left when his feet grew too big for his boots, whilst Hatton was reasonably paid and left because he felt he was being ripped off after gatecrashing the world scene.
