Hamed lost to Barrera in 2001 at 126, he never fought higher than that and it was the end of his career and he wasnt focus. Mayweather just came off a big win and was in his prime looking untouchable. All aspects of it clearly point to favoring Mayweather by a large margin.
Randy Shields beat Ray Leonard in the amateurs. We all know what happened in the pros. After being questioned about a prospective Mayweather fight,Hamed responded,"How many times do you want me to move up?"There is nobody, absolutely nobody on Hamed's resume that is remotely as good as Mayweather or that would indicate Hamed would have beaten Mayweather. In fact, stylewise this is a nightmare matchup for Hamed as Floyd is an intelligent counterpuncher with speed, power and lightning reflexes at 130(or the proposed 128))and who wouldn't have been drawn into a Hamed style undisciplined shootout that Hamed thrived on.Mayweather by easy shutout or late stoppage as the bigger man makes the off-balance king look as amateurish as Barrera did,if not moreso.****ing hell.I can't believe I'm defending Mayweather as I don't even like the *****.
Floyd usually takes 4 rounds or so to adjust to any fighter before systematically breaking them down. Hamed was a big puncher and very awkward. I think Floyd would have his hands full early on. Hamed could even have put him on the canvas imo. But, Floyd superoior conditioning and determination would get him back in the fight and he would probably beat Hamed by a close decision.
People who really watch boxing know Floyd at lower weights use to be a Ko artist himself. Not onlt does he embarrass Prince badly but I'm sure he gets a wicked KO with Prince's more than exposed chin, hands by his sides style.
Hey i happen to be a fan of Famoso but he didnt hurt Mayweather He happened to step on his foot then hit him which produced the knockdown. There use to be a boxing radio show here in LA and i remember the radio show host giving Props to Famoso for dropping Mayweather, and even he admitted it wasnt a legitimate knockdown. Oh and in defense of Famoso i wouldnt say he was a light puncher he wasnt a banger but had enough pop to get respect. Id say he was at least an average puncher.
floyd would have destroyed hamed at 128 he was a completley diffrent fighter at lower weights than he is today
