Weird, the closer the fight this weekend the bigger the nut crunching power Rigo becomes. If we pair him with Hamed at featherweight, who will come on top?
Hamed could crack but clearly fundamentals we're his weakness along with Emmanuel Stewards misguided mentoring.
Rigo either schools him bad or gets knocked into another dimension. Hamed had a speed advantage and definitely a power advantage but Rigo is way more skilled. I think it is a good matchup TBH and if you placed a gun to my head I'd probably take Rigo but I wouldn't be that confident he doesn't get KTFO. For all I know, Hamed's unorthodox style could catch Rigo off-guard early in the fight and get Rigo put to sleep.
This one I'm quite confident in picking Hamed. Hamed is a great fighter, I don't know if Rigo is one. Rigo while supremely skill but there are lapses where he gets touched. Combine with Hamed unorthodox approach, awkwardness, chin and power, I don't know if it goes the distance. Hamed by knock out.
I tell you this much, Rigo wouldn't have knocked Hamed down 3 times(really twice, his glove gravzed the canvas once) and got careless like Kelley did. Hamed would have got the worst beating of his life against Rigo
Ingle trained early days Hamed would be a dangerous nightmare for any feather ever. He deteriorated like I've never seen in a top rate fighter. Once the hard work went out the window his style was flawed badly down to his fundamentals as you say. Off balance, lunging, laziness, he could look terrible when not on point !
Rigo has one of the lowest percentages of punches landed on him. His defense "should" help with a victory. On the flip side, the small percentage of punches that has landed, Rigo has gone down. If Hamed were to connect cleanly, ooooh, Bye Bye Rigo. Still that's a "what if". Currently, I'm sticking with Rigo's speed, skills, defense and ring IQ to see him through.
This. Before the hand injuries and his lack of motivation I'd have to side with Naseem. Rigo's good, but nobody on his resume is even half the fighter of Naseem in his prime.
