They both fought in a similar weight classes.....Feather up to MW in
    search of championships.

If they had met in their primes, who would have won?

BIG DEE HERE= Armstrong by KO before the 15 rds are done as the protected
Mayweather has never fought a really great fighter of Armstrongs class.
Mayweather has ducked every really good fighter of his generation. Floyd Mayweather has never been a World champion just a part champion and has never unified any title he has ever had and has ducked out of that division
when he should have fought the best of that division. Mayweather went to the next division where he fought the lowest duck on the totem pole to pad his record. He fought Ricky Hatton who was made for him and it showed it.
Henry Armstrong on the other hand was way to much amimal for Mayweather
    to handle.

Mayweather doesn't lose to shorter fighters, this would be 1 sided, PBF picks him off from the outside, easily rolls any combos on the inside and uppercut counters, Mayweather is the bigger puncher too, but Armstrong probably goes the distance

The real champ is the lineal champ, lets see:

130 - best Hernandez Lineal Champ, Corrales IBF Champ, Chavez top 5
    135 - Castillo lineal champ
140 - Gatti WBC and later lineal champ Hatton (who turned him down 5 times)
147 - Lineal Undisputed Champ Baldomir, Judah (IBF belt holder), Hatton (WBA belt holder)

Barney Ross, one of the baddest of all Welterweight Champs,
asked Hank to let him finish on his feet as a Champion, when Armstrong,
coming up from featherweight, took his championship away.

That is an ominous fighter for PBF to be involved with too.

Ross was in NO WAY bad, he was a powder puff puncher who makes Mayweather look like Mike Tyson and Armstrong had fought 2 fights at Featherweight in 2years, he was more natural at lightweight, Ross too was more natural. If Burley or Robinson were the champ would they have even put Armstrong in for the Welter title? I doubt it

I'm not too impressed with Ross on film

Armstrong is everything Hatton ever dreamed, and still dreams, of being.

I honestly think Hatton was a competitive fight for Mayweather. I believe an Armstrong match-up would be similar, with Armstrong laying a bit more leather on Floyd than did Ricky.

I still question Mayweather's chin, but it's not his fault his defense has been too good to answer my questions. I'll give Floyd the benefit of the doubt in making it the entire distance. Armstrong UD

No fighter of similar weight that ever breathed could beat Armstrong in a one sided manner or keep him on the outside.

If prime Ray Robinson or Ray Leonard fought Armstrong they wold have to go through hell to win, if they won..........

Barney Ross is about my overall biggest hero and I'm a big Armstrong fan. When they fought for Ross's 147 lb. title(I think Ross was shot)...anyway Ross weighed 142..Armstrong was 133...both guys were at best probably junior welters(Ring picked Ross over Kostya Tszu a few years ago.Armstrong's toughest fight of his trifecta(126,135 ,147) was his 135 lb. title fight against Lou Ambers in his fight after Ross...(I'm glad Mayweather retired)..and I take Armstrong over Mayweather ..at least up to 140.

Robinson beat Armstrong in a 1 sided fight and was said to carry him. People claim Armstrong was shot BUT it was only 10 months after he beat Zivic, which is 1 of his best wins

In 2002 Ring Magazine voted Armstrong the #2 greatest fighter over the past 80 years (behind Sugar Ray Robinson)....for whatever that is worth.

At 147 i think Armstrong wins, at other weights, lets just say 135, i dont know, this fight wont be 1 sided either way imo, styles come into analysing fights, but like it or not, both of these guys are elite, very top tier guys in terms of h2h most definitely, and great fighters do well at their very best (and these fantasy-fights are on their best nights, no?). Anyway, i'll pick Floyd at 135, oth guys are immense at what they do. At 130 and 140, maybe Floyd aswell, not quite sure though on this whole topic in general, thought i'd man-up and make a choice though!!
