I believe so. I tore my bicep and felt that for up to a year. Keep active with it. I will every several months get that sensation but it goes away. Hope that helps.

I've torn my hamstring a couple times and it does hurt like hell and takes a good bit of time to heal properly.

Best advice I can offer is before undertaking any exercise that involves your legs, stretch those muscles slowly to loosen them up to help avoid a repeat.

Yeah, you are going to have bring your range of motion back very slowly.

Torn as in you couldn't walk on it for a long while? Or a strain i.e. limp a bit and could walk on it after a week or so?

Did you have rehab and massage on it during the last 8 months?

If you tore it and didn't have rehab then there will be a lot of scar tissue (fibres will be stuck together and not move over eachother smoothly) and this could/will cause pain and re-injury risk.

I tore some mucles in my calf 7 years ago, didn't have rehab (as I decided I wasn't going to compete at a high level anymore) and it still hurts and is prone to re-injury even now.

My advice would be a high volume of stretches (three times a day minimum) and if you can afford it to have sports massage to remove/eleviate scar tissue and knots.

:good thanks guys i usually do a hamstring stretch i saw on a recovery website before running.

it strated as a strain but in my great wisdom i didnt think much of it and continued to push through the pain, i could walk (just) by putting as much pressure on the other leg as possible, i thought it was coming back for revenge about 2 months later but i knew what it was that time and so stopped. never had any treatment, im just very cautious nowadays.
i managed to make it through some intense training afterwards so im optimistic.
    thanks for the info:good
