Hamzah is a nice guy and a good and promising fighter but Janibek is a tall order for any of these MWs. He's got great skills, accuracy, and nasty power and if Hamzah can beat him it would be very impressive and it would totally prove his legitimacy. The speed and fashion Hamzah took Williams out was impressive for sure but Williams' punch resistance is clearly shot to bits and alarmingly so. We saw that on full display against CEJ when he kept getting dropped with ease by jabs and shots which weren't even concussive and CEJ has never possessed that kind of power. It might be a too soon for Hamzah but he's Janibek's mandatory and the later is desperate for quality opponents and I'm sure His Excellency would love to stage that one in Saudi so why not?
Sheeraz's career trajectory gives Antony Yarde vibes, with him being put in against no hopers before stepping up for a world level fight he is completely unprepared for. At this stage I would back Janibek to beat him comfortably; Ammo Williams however is a decent step up fight.
Hamzah Sheeraz ( 5v5 Captain) vs "Ammo" Williams June 1st What a fight , Hamzah will showcase to the world what's up .. can't wait ..
If he beats ammo, he is for sure elite at 160. That's a big if though. Much respect for him taking this fight
Hamzah wants that world title , hearing now that WBC have made this fight the final eliminator for the Full title .. winner will be mandatory.. anyone in the way he must deal with ... It's a great match up.. Ammo young and unbeaten too and wants the same ..
Great fight between 2 prospects. I have Sheeraz as a slight favorite. Should be a good fight. Winner can take on Janibek.
Great win tonight ... Hamzah showed real maturity in the ring , stuck to gameplan and beat the hell out of Ammo ... The WBC mandatory now ..
That's part of the game , and he will learn from them mistakes and improve , he just turned 25 last week .. apart from that he was very impressive with all the pressure at this level and occasion .. he done great ..
I think he looked really good last night and he proved his legitimacy. Still not sold on his chin but he ticked a lot of boxes for me with that performance.
If what I saw yesterday is the future of the Middleweight division, then it has hit rock bottom. Sheeraz would be a bum of the month against a guy like GGG. And honestly I am not sure Sheeraz would even see round 2 against guys like Roy Jones, Gerald McClellan, or Julian Jackson. He may not even see 2 against a limited banger like Lemieux.
