Liam Williams has been inactive and was on the brink of retirement which is why he was chosen.

Yes he did better than Austin Williams but Williams himself was lucky in his previous fight and was supposed to fight Felix Cash anyway who has a completely different style to Bent.

His last opponent was a career 154 fighter who has been poor in the professional game. He was 7 inches shorter than Sheeraz and also went life and death with Asinia Byfield at 154!!

Sheeraz has looked good so far, but I see a lot of flaws, and I will happily put my hands up if I’m wrong about him.
Should have really ended up being a no-contest or disqualification.

Looking at early 2024 for the reschedule

Can't knock Williams as an opponent really

Wasn't that long ago he was challenging for World honours

And he hasn’t fought anyone of note since, not even anyone near British level. He said he retired on Twitter and then changed his mind a few weeks afterwards. Pretty average opponent and anyway good thing they aren’t clashing with the Belfast show which I was a lot more interested in.

It's a solid opponent for a fighter on the way up

What's the rush these days in wanting every prospect to go 50/50 from day dot

I mean, look how Connor Hen was progressing before Hearn realised he probably won't ever get his returns back and started this cash out nonsense with Eubank

Benn was ticking along nicely (ignoring the possibility of drug use for now)

Some people progress faster than others and some slower

A fighters ready when he is ready, not when you want him to be

Hearn since moving to DAZN has really lost interest in moving fighters along at the right pace for the respective individual but I think that's down to his broadcaster wanting a different approach

Frank seems to still be able to get away with it at BT

Why have you shifted the conversation to something else? Warren has said that Sheeraz is the best British prospect and will fight for a world title in 2024. There’s a huge gap between Janibek and Liam Williams - Sheeraz will be severely underprepared.

    I don't think I have tbh

    I think it's a relevant point

What do you want Warren to say? He is the 7th best prospect in the UK?

I don't buy him getting that title shot next year either, smoke and mirrors at play and bigging up his fighters journey in public

Unless he really wants to cash him out and has little faith

This is factually incorrect as it goes

    He fought Eubank

You’re right, but by the time Williams fight Sheeraz, he wouldn’t have fought a top opponent for over 2 years and would have been out of the ring for over a year.

So as I said it’s an average opponent, not poor but not great.

You sound like an absolute casual with a capital C posting this, or a newcomer to boxing. Comparing these things doesn't mean jack ****! Because styles make fights, and sometimes it's circumstances like weightclasses.

Crawford stopped Spence in the 9th round, but only stopped Benavidez in the 12th round. Does that make Benavidez better than Spence?!

Usyk stopped Bellew in the 8th round, Adonis Stevenson stopped Bellew in the 6th round does that make Stevenson better than Usyk lol.

Crawford stopped the most glass chinned fighter ever Khan in the 6th round yet stopped Kell Brook earlier in the 4th round. And Brook smoked your boy Khan with absolute ease like he was a random man taken from the crowd.

And so what if Mytrofanov was in Usyks amateur team. It's meaningless that he was in the same team as the great Usyk, and they are two different sports. Tom Stalker was in the same team as Josh Taylor and Anthony Joshua for example. Mytrofanov has looked awful in the pros and was a midget.. there was a huge height and reach advantage.

Sheeraz has fought absolutely nobody yet. He's being protected, that's a fact. Yet still he got schooled by Skeete, and got dropped by a feather fist.

You really need to educate yourself on boxing.

We can because Liam Williams looked as shot as Dereck Chisora against Eubank Jr. He was a fighter who always had a decent chin, now his punch resistance has completely gone.

It's nonsense to say he would've stopped him regardless. Because there wasn't long left in the fight, good chance he'd have hung on. But we'll never know. Skeete made Sheeraz look like a stupid plodding hypejob for almost all the fight, the tide was turning but I think he'd have hung on

Lucky injury for Sheer Ass, he really dodged a bullet, Liam would've slept his ass violently, that is after Liam got dropped 2 or 3 times himself.
