my dwarf 2nd cousin could knock him out within 30 seconds. look at that neck. overhand right from my dwarf cousin and he would be all over the place.
every fighter is fast tapping the accuracy ball.. i dont see those kinds of training drill as any kind of speed indicator.. real speed indicators can only be measured with an opponent that is using defense and offense in the ring.. i could easily look faster than m taylor right now at almost 40 and out of shape in drills
How many frames per second is it, and i'd like to see what he could do on a double end if it had more elasticity.
I have been in boxing and training for over 40 years and I have never seen anyone hit a double end like that. Had the bag not been so loose I thing he could have gone faster. The kid is 17 and is a 14 time national and international champion.
no offense, but that was barely a demonstration and to say it was the fastest one has ever seen makes me think you have not been paying attention to speed bags very much even if you have been around boxing gyms most of your life. in the boxing gym I grew up in it was a known fact that a few of the most impressive dudes on the speed bag were not the best boxers in the gym or the fastest boxers in the gym. Plus a few guys became mini legends on the speed bag never becoming legends inside the ring. This guy could be a fantastic boxer, but that single clip of him on the speed bag shows me little about his overall ability. Watching him hit a heavy bag would show far more about his overall ability than this Youtube clip does.
He is a 14 time national and international champion at the age of 17. His hand speed and foot speed are both amazing. He fights at 126 but regularly goes toe to toe with light heavyweights and heavyweights. His left hook is a thing of beauty and he has stopped a lot of opponents with it. Why can't you all just enjoy the hand speed and not be so critical or post a video of someone faster.
I remember when this sight use to be a lot of fun sharing the passion for the sport of boxing with others. Many great long term friendships came out of it. Now it is just full of haters and people who want to insult and argue. It is too bad. Boxing is the sport of kings and deserves better.
Roy Jones Jr. landing three true hooks on the bag in the span of 1 second IIRC is about as impressive as I have seen. And that speed definitely translated in real-fight situations under the lights. I'd add Howard Davis Jr. and Meldrick and Ray Leonard and Floyd as among the best speed merchants I have ever seen. There also needs to be some kind of pound-for-pound factor. Ali's jab, broken down on film, for instance, was faster than Ray Robinson's, which is absolutely astonishing speed for a big man.
People obsess too much about speed and go crazy mental about power. It helps but if you cant box or have a bad chin, it doesnt matter. Zab Judah had fast hands yet he was never better than mediocre.
