When training I usually do 7-10 rounds shadow boxing with hand weights.

My trainer is in the ring with me correcting technique and directing me.

He selects the weight, usually a 3LB in each hand. But we have used 1,2 and 5lb's too.

What is your "go to" weight?

I prefer using 1lb's as I feel I can hold perfect technique for longer with these. With the 3's I feel sluggish and fatigued after 4 rounds.

Anyone ever hit themselves in the face with the weight? :p

My coach has us do 5 rounds. 1lb, 2lb, 3lb, 2lb, 1lb and then another round or two with no weights.

I prefer the one pound ones becasue especially the 3lb slows your hands down to much but that helps with your endurance so it's all good.
