Lately, I've been noticing pain in my right hand on the pinky and it's really weird because the left hand is just fine. I'm not sure what I did to cause pain just on the pinky. I don't wrap my hands like they say to, I just wrap everything else besides in between the fingers. This is stopping me from going the distance and it becomes very hurtful. I was told that I'm wrapping the palm too much as it stops someone from making a proper first. Like I said, my left hand is fine and I wrap it the same way as my right. I need more insight and any tips that would help me out. Thanks in advance

For the record, I'm right handed so I jab with my left.

I mostly focus my wraps around the wrist & in between fingers..

Hook the thumb, then 4 times around my wrist, stretch over top of hand, then 3 times across the fist/knuckles.

Round back of the thumb, over across in between baby finger and 2nd finger, then back and once around the wrist.

Then over again in between 2nd finger & middle finger, then back around the wrist once again, then over again through middle and index finger, once around wrist, then 3 times across fist/knuckles, then the rest over hand & wrist.

I use 180'' wraps. Never had no problems.

When you start your wrap, fold it over a few times and place that over your knuckles (starting from your second knuckle seems low but works out). Creates all the padding you need without needing to form this huge wad of wrap in your palm. At most you will need four revolutions over the palm.

The pinky is the weakest knuckle, but it shouldn't come into play if you are punching right. :think Could it be a technique issue? Do you throw your hooks palm down or facing you?

Its the way you're wrapping your hands has injured your pinky. When you punched your pinky was pushed out but the wrap wouldnt let it move so its hurt. Just wrap it lower around the knuckles, avoid the base of the pinky
