Even that is a reach. More like 4/5 at best. Loma was the clear winner and got robbed by a hometown decision. Having Haney up 5-4 after 9 is the most generous score for him. After 10/11 being Loma rounds and 12 a go either way type round no way can you argue for a Haney win. This is similair as if Maidana would have won the first Floyd fight. At best you could argue a draw. And Maidana had a better claim than Haney had for that.
Which rounds did you give Lomachenko? I had Haney 5-4 up after nine, the tenth and eleventh were clear for Loma, the 12th was clear for Haney. 6-6.
He didn't need to win more than 6 to retain his belts, Slowstartchenko was too tentative and you can't pick up belts on the road like that. Everybody said he MUST go full 12 or scores will not fall kindly on his ears, and you know what he didn't have? Urgency, costing him another win. Admittedly Drawmachenko would be the more fair moniker, however a challenger still returns home empty handed if that was the outcome, and its hard to favor him doing more than this one year down the road.
I had Loma up 5-4 after 9, gave him 1/3/5/7/8 Haney won 2/4/6/9 10-11 were clear Loma rounds 12 thought it was an even round, but you could argue it either way. Moretti gave Haney round 10. Which is even more ridiculous than that 116-112 card.
How come? It was a close round.i dont mind if someone score that for Haney, Loma or even. It was the closest round in the fight. Thats why I cant see past 7-5, 8-4,7-4-1 loma. 6-6 is a reach if you favour Haney but cant see how he won the fight.
I'm about to watch the fight and score it. My opinion is the final verdict that cannot be disputed. There is a good chance I get bored halfway through and decide to make a Fury thread instead.
Scoring is too broad and subjective. Most people are scoring what they personally like to see. Loma's resurgence from the opening bell shocked everybody (ala Duran-Barkley). Those little things add up in the minds of viewers BUT we still need the fight to be scored accordingly.... EITHER way, this wasn't clear cut at all. Both men had a significant case for being the winner.
Haney won the 1st half of the fight Loma won the back half & of course “”The Story of the fight” For the record …. I’d like to punch Max Kellerman repeatedly in his stupid bug eye face!
Max Kellerman is on crack giving Loma 6,7 & 8. Haney has a long career ahead of him at 24 but if he goes up to 140 he is getting chinned at some point. Ain't a great sheikh but he's a quality operator. 1,2,4,5,6,8 - Haney 3,7,9,10,11 - Loma 12? Total pick em' Draw would have been ideal however Loma is only getting worse with age. Haney dominated early with his bodywork Not sure how so many people had Loma winning. Nah...draw at best for him. He is old.
Couldn't agree more. I thought this fight was a case of picking what you like and both fighters did good work in different ways. It was hard to score and anybody making a claim that it was a clear win for either fighter, I have to wonder about ulterior motives. For some reason people seem desperate for "their" guy to win but a draw was probably a fair result. It wasn't a robbery
I agree. You could give it a draw. But Devon did not deserve the win as Loma landed many more clean headshots. And I am saying though I am a body type puncher guy
I would not say the 12th was clear for Devon. He still fought on the back foot. he may have edged it. if you give it to him, the best he deserved was a draw.
