Gotta be bad for kidneys to drain them of liquids for weeks. That's why you see guys drinking gallons of water immediately after weighing in.

I read somewhere that Jim Jeffries avoided water for weeks before fights.

Jesus!! No water, forget that!! That is really insane. I've always been in favor or year round weight checks. Like quarterly or something for all active boxers to be ranked or maintain ranking.

One man could move down in weight, at the age of 35.
The other man struggles to make the weight. Haney will undoubtedly end up at 147.

Haney look like he walk around 180 no jk. His bone structure significantly larger than Loma.

But Haney needs those advantages as Jorge Linares demonstrated.

True, but he is still young. I think it´s going to be a while before he struggles to make 140.
But you never know with these things. JoJo Diaz moved up to 130 in 2019. In 2021 he failed to make 130, and he was still only 28.
It all comes down to discipline and genetics.

My guess is that Haney's combination of size, speed and skill will be too much for Loma. Great win for Loma if he pulls it off.

@Bokaj Haney is not that good. He has no gold medals, no amateur success. Theoretically, he's a bum picked up from street. Linares humiliated him.

That was quite strong words. You rarely get humiliated by winning a comfortable UD. And I'd take that win over Loma's loss to Lopez every day of the week.

But, yes, Linares wasn't a very impressive performance, but Haney is still young and has progressed since then. He now has the confidence of an undisputed champion plus added experience. I think he's too big for Loma seeing what else he brings to the table.
