Without the power to keep people off of you, without the power to gain their respect, he’s going to run into a knock out. He won’t even need to be timed necessarily, if his opponent can punch and keeps throwing Haney will lose.

Whatever is left of Linares hurt him and for whatever reason didn’t follow up nor punch during Haneys clinches and excessive hugging. Next time he holds that much he’s going to get mauled.

NO. If I were a judge, I would not have handed him a decision last night because of the way he lost the championship rounds.
He was out on his feet and hanging on for dear life. If fights were still 15 rounds , we can see who was going to get the knockout.
To me Linares was the tougher fighter.

Any fighter can get caught, look at Mayweather and Mosley. Mosely had Mayweather drunk and holding, didn't take anything away from his victory. Haney can box and there is no doubt about it. He made Linares look real bad for the majority of that fight. Just like Haney didn't knock Linares out, Linares didn't knock Haney and had a better shot at it. I will bet if Haney had of buzzed Linares the way he was buzzed, he would have finished him.

 

No, he doesn't punch hard enough and I believe his chin is questionable at top level.

Look, he has ability, I know I give him a lot of stick but he is talented but I don't believe he lives with the top men at lightweight.
