Is this the fight that legitimizes Haney?

Is Diaz too small, does Haney need to fight Loma/Garcia/Lopez/Tank to truly be accepted as WBC champ, and not Email champ!

Mismatch. Diaz doesn't have the footwork, speed, or skill to trouble Haney.
Not a bad fight for Haney as the others are tied up but yes, he will need to face real competition to be truly accepted.

Haney keeps fighting smaller guys that have moved up and are on the slide. His last three started multiple weight classes lower and Gamboa was what... thirty nine? Forty?

Haney is not going to be legit until that nonsense stops. Doesn't help that he held on for dear life the last few rounds he fought against Linares.

Yep. Jojo has been looking really good since losing to GRJ, and is a very live dog against Haney. Big credit to Haney though for talking the big talk and at least trying to back it up. As far as the fight is concerned, Jojo presents the stiffest test so far for Haney, lets see if he has more bounce to the ounce in him than jojo. If he wins Fimo has to fight him, or it will be looked at as a big time duck.

Has ” NoGo” Diaz $igned yet?

if so, & Haney styles on him & beats him soundly
It solidifies him in my eyes.

    will be a quality win.

Good fight. Decent end to the year for DAZN. I fancy Haney late on via KO.

I would say no but Haney doesn't have much choice.

For someone who gets called overrated the rest of the division don't want to fight him.

Haney will fight anyone. Whether you think he wins or loses is a different matter but his certainly not trying to keep the belt hostage.

i used to be critical of haney but then the antics of lopez and garcia in their gymnastics to not take the fight rubbed me the wrong way. at least diaz has the stones to get in there and fight haney. this is a good fight, i felt diaz was going to embarrass garcia and this is a good fight. we will see how much he learned from the russell fight

Haney appears to have a very high skill set. His power outtage I think is gonna hinder him as he moves up (he's too big to not move up eventually). His skill and speed can still exploit the smaller guys though.

    Haney UD.
