If Haney is actually at 140, or anywhere ****ing near it - yes. If Ricky's at 140-ish and Haney at his standard 160+, then it's a different question.
I think post weigh in Ricky would weigh in at 155 or so, so while not Caneloweight like Haney, he won't be completely overpowered.
Haney ain’t squashing anybody decent. He may outbox Hatton for a while but Hatton eventually puts too much pressure on and ices a guy who couldn’t break an egg with either hand. Haney’s feather fists ain’t getting guys as strong as Hatton off him.
If the fight is in Europe Hatton wins via stoppage. Haney relies on being able to tie up and hug and in Europe Hatton could maul. Haney wouldn't know what to do when his tactic of bear hugging was met with intentional headbutts and lowblows...which inevitably leads to actual punches landing. I'm not saying Hatton was only a dirty fighter but it was definitely a quality he had. Haney's hugging is also illegal but it matters where the fights take place.
Prograis and Hatton fight nothing alike. Come to think of it I dont know that Haney has fought someone like Hatton. Hatton was pretty bad and ineffective on the outside but he had very fast feet and was tenacious at slipping and parrying to get inside...where he would be effective. If the fight happens in US Haney wins wide decision with lots of clinches/holding If the fight happens in UK Hatton wins close decision or stoppage with lots of mauling and probably some low blows
Yeah, fair enough. If that guy actually fought Hatton and they were around the same weight, hydrated or not then there is only one result.
If the fight is in England at 3am in the morning and the ref lets you hold, low blow, and all that **** then Hatton will win. If Haney has the same judges that were scoring the Loma fight, Devin wins. In all seriousness all things being equal Devin The Dream wins.
