Excellent video as always Rummy. Regardless of the controversy, I think that one thing we can all agree on is that Moretti needs to never judge another fight ever again. I still have no idea how anyone could possibly score round 10 to Haney. Short of a knockdown, a round like that has to be the easiest type to score, and if someone can't see that then they have no business being a professional judge. And, at the end of the day, whether you wanted Loma or Haney to win, at least this was a big fight between two top guys that delivered on its expectations. The boxing world is desperately in need of more fights like this. Also, your record has now improved to 22-15-1 (2)
I thought Loma took it 7-5 but honestly I'm just barely more than a casual so if you thought a draw I won't argue. Agree it does take the shine off of Haney though, imho, because if he's gonna be a great then he should have made it look easy to beat a much smaller and older fighter (even Loma). He's still just a kid and still learning though so I'm sure he can make it a long way but still there's that. Edit to add- and great vid!
Fair analysis Rummy. I scored the fight narrowly for Haney but it was very close nip and tuck as we say in the UK. Certainly not a robbery like the Lomasexuals are screaming.
Kept it short, told no lies, word up. I also had it a draw. I suspect 115-113 Loma might be the best possible card, those are the two best cards though I think.
Great video as always Rummy! Honest and unbiased. I personally had it 7-5 Loma but I would have no issue with a draw. Haney still deserves respect for holding his ground as much as he could and he could use this as a learning experience. Regardless how you scored it we should still appreciate the fact that the fight took place and we saw a very entertaining fight and an excellent display of skills from both guys. It would only make sense for them to run it back again but we'll see how it looks moving forward.
I had it 7-5 loma, I also felt a bit sorry for him not just because of the result but because Haney looked two weight classes above him once they were in the ring
Glad you threw in that Bill Haney needs to go and Devin needs an old school trainer. If he keeps his novice father he's going to get his butt beat by a lesser fighter with a better corner.
Haney's stock went down even with his victory. He scored a controversial decision win against a 35 year old Featherweight. Granted, Loma is/was an elite Featherweight, but still old, still small. I would expect a dominant Lightweight to win the fight convincingly. Bill Haney has taken him as far as he can. 35 in the lower weights is like 40 for a HW.
I disagree with your conclusion but always enjoy your videos. It was a close 7-5 Loma victory but a draw would have been acceptable. Great job as usual.
