That's cool and all, but fights are scored by rounds not total punches. It is possible for the guy that landed more shots to lose the fight. For example, if I land 30 punches per round for the first 5 rounds and you land 0. Then you tighten up your D and become more aggressive in rounds 6-12 and land 15 punches per round and I land 0, you win the fight. 7-5. Punch totals, me 150 landed, you 105. I know it not that cut and dry. Judges need to consider the damage the punches cause, a jab vs an uppercut etc.
I don't like the idea of AI scoring fights for a variety of reasons, but I very much like it as a basis of review for judges' cards. One consensus from last weekend is that Moretti needs to be retired. As for the fight, the correct answer is that it was very close and could have gone either way. Any opinion stronger than that is some combination of biased and uninformed, and all the crying in the world won't change anything.
Boxing is scored round by round, and if I am a correct, this AI scored overall punches landed(and other factors).
Put your cursor on the image, you will see an arrow to the right. Click on it, there are several panes in this instagram post. RBR breakdown also favours Lomachenko. We can safely say Haney did not take 7 or more rounds by any measure.
Since half of us are probably bots on this forum anyway, this seems a good step forward in further mechanizing the sport.
Why isn't there more discussion on this? It is the absolute proof required to say Loma won 8-1 with 3 close rounds. That is not a close fight, which the conformist media and Haney nuthuggers were using as the means of giving Haney the win, that is, it was close so I am ok with any result. This is typical of boxing today.
It's not about "retiring" Moretti. He's a cheat who has been fixing fights for decades. Hindsight now shows that once he was appointed Loma needed a KO to win the fight. Moretti should be in jail.
