Hang on, if Calzaghe fights Dawson and then retires, isn't he ducking Pavlik??

You do stay abreast of the facts lol. Stating Cal ran like a little girl when PAv challenged him is the biggest fact in boxing now...go away, PAv lost. Abraham the best MW in the world.

Taylor was the one running away from Calzaghe, but you're right, Calzaghe would be ducking him too, if he didn't fight him.

So...Calzaghe will soon be ducking Pavlik, Dawson and Taylor. So he has to fight three more fights in order not be called a ducker...:think

Marciano would be shaking in his boots!

Not at all.....Bhop faught PAV and won.....BHop lost to Joe. There is no need to fight Bhop again or PAV at all. Chad is a LWH chapion, so is JOe...both are undefeated. One is physically in his prime in a young promising career and the other is a living Legend, just out of his prime who is on an upward swing with regards to his legacy. THe fight tht makes sense is JOe vs Chad if Joe wants to continue down the path he's been on since his win over Jeff Lacy...and that is to finally challenge himself and answer questions that have been asked for the majority of his boxing career. Joe is passing with an A+ average thus far.

How does the fact that Pavlik lost to Bhops can anything?:huh If Calzaghe was ducking him then, he's ducking him now too! You aren't by any chance suggesting that Pavlik's been "exposed" by Bhops, are you? Because we all know that for many people if you lose a fight you become exposed and you're thrown onto a scrapheap! Be that as it may, but that still doesn't change the fact Calzaghe is ducking that bum Pavlik, does it?

It was more to do with the fact Joe couldn't give Ottke a sufficiently high payday...but guess what! Things have changed...and I haven't heard Calzaghe say anything about intending to fight Ottke!:-(

Only haters say this ****. There are plenty of good American fans who, like me, believe that Calzaghe legitimized his career for posterity by defeating Kessler. That cemented his life's work at 168.

At 175 I've always wanted to see him fight Dawson, especially because Hopkins and Jones are too old, and Pavlik always has been overrated.

But he isn't ducking anyone. If he retires, I'll be disappointed but wouldn't blame him a bit.

That said, Erdei is a ****ing joke. And I don't say that about many fighters.

    This is a troll thread.

That being said, I believe Calzaghe DID duck Pavlik before the Jones fight and still think that he did duck Pavlik. Joe had the mixed luck to see Hopkins school him, similar to what Joe would probably have done. He was calling out Pavlik and then when Pavlik stepped up to accept the challenge all of a sudden Pavlik was 'Too green' and 'hadn't fought anyone'. Hopkins went out and schooled Pavlik and Joe was lucky to be able to say that, in retrospect, he was right; Pavlik looked like an amateur that fight. Had Pavlik won, Joe would have been hard-pressed for a reason as to why he didn't fight the kid.

This is a relatively minor point, as people seem to forget quickly if you can pull a dominant win; people have already seemed to have forgotten Kessler withdrawing from the Miranda fight, since Miranda got schooled by Abraham and Kessler schooled Hausler.

I think Calzaghe smelled an easy and big payday against Jones by the time the Pavlik discussions were beginning to formulate. There's no logical reason for Calzaghe to avoid Pavlik; it's obvious he would have outclassed him, and there plenty of people who believed that prior to Pavlik/Hopkins.

I fixed your post, and yes Slappy ducking Pavlik is one of the best and most clearly documented ducks in boxing history. Do a little research dim wit.

Joe C's camp challenged Pavlik twice, both of which was declined. Then when Joe C had arranged the fight with RJJ suddenly Pavlik wants it..

    Come on..
