Hang on, if Calzaghe fights Dawson and then retires, isn't he ducking Pavlik??

Easy as well....Less proven. I honestly don't think Diaconu or Garay need to fight Bhop to get a shot at Joe. If they are champs they deserve a shot but they have to be in "LINE" to face the top guy who is JOE. ANd right now there is no question that Chad is a more proven champion than Diaconu or Garay. Chad beat two of the very best LHW's out there to warrant his shot...what has Diaconu or Garay or Erdei do to deserve a shot? Cleary not as much as chad.

 

That's exactly right. This just cements his legacy at 168. He would easily defeat Pavlik. Joe is the only fighter that got stronger and stronger as a fight went along against Hopkins and figured BHop out. He is a great fighter. If not for the flash knockdown he would have figured BHop out even sooner. No one else, other than RJJ, has done that. Certainly Pavlik didn't.

He should retire, although he appears to still be a great fighter. I think he can beat Dawson but it will be a very tough fight for him. He might not be able to do the work required any more. Every fighter has the right to retire when he can no longer make the committment.

 

Why are people ignoring the obvious?

I've posted this several times and everyone is yet to see the light!

Follow the trail. Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik, as we all know. Pavlik already beat Taylor so logically Calzaghe must be, by extension, ducking Taylor. Next weekend Jermaine Taylor is getting knocked out.

And then Joe Calzghe will be ducking none other than the new great American hype, the mini-Tyson.......Jeff Lacy.
