Mendez deserves a title shot more than Burns ever did. And you say they talked their way into a title shot? When did someone who isnt connected to any major promoter manage to do that? Billy I never mentioned Lee Beard, you did. You obviously have some agenda with him. I sorted about Mendez who deserves a shot but isnt getting one. If youre not going to reply about Mendez just dont reply. Dont see why you keep bringing Lee Beard into it but since you did, the Petronellis never took anyone to titles before Hagler but he didnt turn out too bad did he? Beard is only a young trainer but if it came down to it his fighter would beat youre fighter. Youve left Burns status as champion go to youre head. He wont be champion forever so maybe you should tone down youre comments a bit. Youre insulting people just for disagreeing with you. Not very professional. Burns's last 2 outing's have been pretty ****, and don't big up Laryea as a world class opponent, he got a bit of publicity beating Paul Appelby (also who you describe as a "great talent" but isn't exactly setting the world alight now is he?).

Anybody who knew Boxing knew Martinez wasn't the no1 in the division when Burn's fought him, and a lot of people we're making Martinez out to be some kind of monster when he wasn't, he was, and still is a sloppy arse Brawler who can punch, that's it.

I like Burns, i cheered him on against Martinez, but hearing his trainer go on and try big Burns up like he's some dominant World Champion isn't good viewing.

Also LOL @ Billy's comment in another thread about Burns moving up and "smashing" both Mitchell and Murray

 

This is a really sad thread really. It's a shame how Ricky Burns comes across as a genuine nice bloke, but his trainer seems to have turned into some kind of monster on here since the world title win. The hypocrisy in starting this thread is startling.

Best of luck to Ricky in his future fghts but it will be hilarious on here when he finally does lose that belt. I hope that he keeps winning but some idiots just want to turn you away from a fighter.
