Any Armstrong fans here? I've always admired this guy. He'd fight frequently, give up weight, and claimed multiple weight classes. Could you imagine how much Armstrong would be worth if he were fighting today?
Honestly I haven't seen much footage of Armstrong, but his credentials pretty much speak for themselves. Armstrong was reported to throw an average of some 250-300 punches per round, which was an absolutely phenomenal workrate for any fighter in any era. This level of production suggests that he had to have been in optimal conditioning, as this takes incredible stamina. I believe he defended his title some 20 times in just a 2 year period, and accumulated an unbelievable number of fights in just a little over a decade. Armstrong is commonly listed as a top 10 pound for pound all time great, and rightfully so in my opinion. I would certainly like to view some of his better fights, if any are available.
