    Round 4

Dianzo tries a wide hook and gets jabbed in the face. Sanchez drills him with jabs and rights against the ropes and Dianzo pitches forward to his knees. Ruled a slip. Again Sanchez starts to shoe shine up top, hitting Dianzo with lots of straight shots. Dianzo is swinging back, though. Dianzo is able to back Sanchez off with his wild hooks. Now Sanchez is walked back to the ropes. Dianzo is fighting southpaw now. Not that it matters; he's mostly just leaning up against Sanchez and working the body. Right hooks by Dianzo, a pair of them. Uppercuts and wide slaps to the body by Dianzo. Good little rally. Long right hand, left hook combo by Sanchez flopping in. Left hook to the body by Sanchez. Clinch. Uppercut by Dianzo on the break! No bad blood, they touch gloves. Right hands by Sanchez. Dianzo tries some uppercuts up close but Sanchez's arms are in the way and he can't get any leverage. Big left hook to the body by Sanchez and Dianzo is down.

    KO!

Nasty body-punch finishes a game Dianzo off in the 4th. Seems fitting, given all the abuse he inflicted to Dianzo's torso.

Yeah. There's only so much credit to be given for handing a 40 year old the eighth stoppage loss of his career, but it's clear that Sanchez has some vicious stuff when working in the basement.

Pretty gritty performance, given Dianzo's advanced years, and the abuse he sustained, though. A lot of guys would have stayed down following the first kd. But he got up, and actually rallied a bit before getting dropped again.

At the very least, he had it pretty entertaining, as far as squashes go. :good

Bryan is a really good boxer.

He won an eliminator last time out for the right to face then interim champ Jorge Solis (and I thought he might have had a chance there) but then Solis had the misfortune of running into Uchiyama a couple of months later in a bid for the "regular" title.

I have to favor Takashi over Bryan. Not a huge mismatch, though.

    Round 1

Perez jabs and circles, not too far off. Trazancos hangs back and jabs with him while turning. Trazancos is a bit taller. High jab by Perez. Good right hand by Perez. A "freight train right" says Bernstein. Now an uppercut by Perez. Wild left hook by Perez. Now back to the good jab. Trazancos tries a lead right and lands, but eats one in return. Perez lands a jab and dances back out of the way of a Trazancos 1-2. Good right hand by Perez. Another. Trazancos is backed up and gets his face painted with more reaching straight rights. Perez lands a jab to the mouth and then ducks under a flutter of Trazancos jabs. Lazy right hand by Perez misses. Left hook to the body by Perez misses. Trazancos is pushing his heels up off the canvas and circling quickly to stay off the firing line.

    10-9 Perez

Judging by how things are going I'll call Perez KO 3. He is powerful.

Yeah. Especially considering that Trazancos has been stopped five times in a row.

Twice convincingly by Mercito Gesta (I was never sure why there was any point in a rematch, really) and even by the pedestrian Omar Chavez.

    Round 2

They both stand up tall and trade jabs while circling at mid range. Perez starts to open up with rainbow right hands over the top and some good body punches. Trazancos looks to be shrinking back and losing his appetite. Big overhand right by Perez. Trazancos throws a lazy jab and is cracked with a right.

    20-18 Perez

    Round 3

Perez is coming forward, harassing Trazancos with jabs and overhand rights while ducking the incoming jabs from the old Mexican. Perez is mixing in some body shots where he can. Left hook flush by Perez. Trazancos is sliding his feet back and pumping the jab, trying to hold Perez off. Lazy jabs by Trazancos and Perez rushes in past them (never getting touched even lightly) and landing an uppercut. Big left hook by Perez, and he starts to lose a bit of discipline trying to lay a hand on Trazancos again. Big power shots all missing. Trazancos backs up and thrusts up a jab. BIG OVERHAND RIGHT by Perez knocks Trazancos' head back and sends him reeling and almost over. Trazancos recovers in time to block as Perez pours more shots on him. Trazancos jumps out to his left jabbing, and Perez blocks and counters from his guard with a quick right.

    30-27 Perez

Trazoncos JUST manages to spoil your prediction. He may be woefully overmatched and underpowered, but he seems determined to hang in there at any rate.

Oops, I forgot to check WBCBoxing.TV to see if the Edgar Sosa vs. Roilo Golez card has started yet (it says 10:30pm on the site, but it was unclear whether that meant 10:30pm EST or an hour later at 10:30pm Distrito Federal time...)
