This bad Costa Rican honey has been clawing her way up the rankings, and is now the hands-down #1 light middleweight in the world. No, she isn't better than Miguel Cotto. She's the best peckerless light middleweight. This content is protected That isn't just via Boxrec's computerized rankings, either. That's from having dominated all her opposition and the rest of the 154lb field for females being, frankly, very weak. She's also moving up the p4p rankings. BR has her down at #36 based on their automated "points" system but IMO she is much higher than that on a h2h basis. Her last two wins have ended in stoppages that seemed a bit premature, although she had victory well in hand in both cases anyway. That isn't really her fault, and her WBO title reign (standing now at four defenses) is otherwise unblemished. She's out-performing everyone put in front of her and doing it with style. Not only is she one of the easiest female boxers to look upon, she's got one of the most pleasing styles. Technical & effectively aggressive is not something you see much of from the fair sex. She also bears more or less single-handed responsibility (or double-handed, with her hubby-to-be and fellow undefeated boxer Bryan Vazquez) for putting Costa Rica on the current boxing map...or perhaps it would be better expressed as putting boxing on the map in Costa Rica. Vazquez seems to share equal or greater popularity in their home, but on the global scale Hanna is a much bigger deal. After all, she's top 40 p4p for her gender (IMO more like top 15 in reality) and #1 in her division. Vazquez might not even be top 150 p4p among men. I've got a question for whatever scant few bigger HG buffs there might be out there than me: wtf is her last name? It's Gabriel, right? For the longest time that was all she went by. Now she has these alternate spellings popping up everywhere - live televised boxing event graphics, boxing sites, etc. I've seen her listed as "Hanna Gabriels" and even more oddly as "Hanna Gabriel's" (as in, she is property of Gabriel...:blood) What is up with that?
