Not my type of guy Oscar De La Hoya but I will wish him a happy birthday and best wishes for his future.
Mosley beat DLH and Oscar ran in his last two rounds v Tito, nothing really happened between him and b-hop before that body shot landed, I don`t think DLH could have beaten any elite middleweight.
he wasn't very special. he lost ALL the biggest fights of his career. and you have a vivid imagination if you think he did anything against hopkins that would suggest he was winning. they both came into that fight looking to counter-punch each other, and oscar (the challenger) had no plan B. they stunk the place out that night.
We can ignore his fights at 130,135,140, because there was no big names At Welter he fought close great fights in a deep Welter division, decisions going either way...but still Great fights Ike Quartey Pernell Whitaker Felix Trinidad Also he lost but the first fight vs Shane Mosley was a great fight At 154lbs the fight vs still-strong Fernando Vargas was also a great fight
A lot of reasons probably to many to list but a few include: 1. Lying he would fight anyone publicly then when it was time to fight for the Junior Lightweight title avoided my beloved Uncle the legendary Azumah Nelson who was ready to give him his first L. Perhaps the blame should go to Bob Arum who having the inside track on Uncle Azumah was not going to jeopardise his investment. To show we are not hypocrites when my Uncle was asked to face the great Salvador Sanchez as a late substitute he took it even though he was not ready and gave Sanchez hell on earth. 2. His personal conduct which details I don’t want to go into in my opinion brought the game into disrepute. 3. Any man who treats an Angel like his wife Millie the way he did is not a real man in my opinion. 4. Being a fake and hypocrite.
don't get me wrong, oscar has an ATG resume, but the wins just didn't translate as well as he would have hoped. what was the saying that was used for floyd v oscar? floyd wanted oscar's pull, oscar wanted floyd respect. something like that.
I didn't know about that, would have been a great fight, but he eventually fought Ike Quartey, so he didn't duck Elite Ghana fighters Not sure what DLH did to his extremely lucky wife, but 100% hundreds of millions of people will be willing to trade place with her
She left him a few years back. She was a highly successful recording artist. Beautiful gorgeous Latina lady from Puerto Rico. In my opinion she would have been better off with Floyd Mayweather or Felix Tito Trinidad. You will see Oscar was the lucky one to get this woman and unlucky to lose her: This content is protected This content is protected
I'd say Oscar's temporary madness has faded and he won't fight again, if he did Conor McGregor or Logan Paul would be candidates. Nobody that could actually fight would be chosen
Could Oscar turn back the clock enough for one fight to beat...say, JCC Jr? I'd image even that would still sell big.
Even an average man can afford to lose something that depreciates with time, let alone someone of the status of DLH.
