James Toney turns 50 today. Now that his 30 year career has come to an end--what are your favorite JT moments? My top three are his knockout of Nunn, trilogy with McCallum and his Cruiserweight title win against Jirov. First ballot hHall of Famer for sure.

The Holyfield fight that's like giving Trevor Berbick credit for beating Muhammad Ali. Anyway he had a great career.

The Charles and Barkley KO's were pretty spectacular. The Jirov fight was a great one, too. Happy Bday, Champ!

My absolute favourite James Toney moment was during the schooling of Holyfield when he does this half run half exaggerated tough guy walk back into the fray, don't recall the round but it is boss level 100 and classic Toney. :D

The dramatic conclusions to the Jirov and Nunn fights are obvious fighting highlights.

Burger King enthusiast James was/is great value in interviews too, constantly straying over the line of acceptable trash-talk like the time he branded Antonio Tarvers kids as looking like "sea creatures"

    LIVING LEGEND!

I have enjoyed his draw with Hasim Rahman over the years.

It was fun to see the modern heavyweight crowd conflicted on that one.

To say that Toney won, was to admit that a former middleweight lineal champion, could beat a modern super heavyweight, who was a former lineal champion.

To say that Rahman won, was to give up your only card when Toney was matched, against say Ezzard Charles at heavyweight!

    Well let's see
He lost to the following while going the distance
    Donald
    Ibraginov ex champ
    Valuev bad decision

    He stopped
    Nielsen
    Oquendo
    Botha

    Decisioned
    Savarese

I'd say that's a far cry from the Ali that did nothing against Berbick.
Do you still want to try an prove your rite?
Are you one of these guys that just has to try an prove hes rite no matter what?

He didn't even stop Oqeundo most had him losing that fight. Nielsen,Botha and Savarese were right around his age and were never really considered contenders in the first place. Valuev was a fighter who barely got by John Ruiz.

Was Berbick a former middleweight? was Berbick in his heavyweight debut? Did Berbick stopp Ali? Was Berbick 35 years old?

Holyield was ranked in the TOP 5 by Ring magazine at the time and Toney was a 3-1 underdog. The win together with the Jirov win earned Toney the recognition as best fighter the he year.
