Duran has lost a lot of weight. Buchanan is still in good shape for a pensioner, too. They should box an exhibition.
Good for him and thanks for the update. I know Duran, when fighting welterweight, would often hit 180 and up between fights. He just couldn't stop eating between matches. I once compared Ricky Hatton to Duran here with the way they both ballooned up and would have to hit the gym hard to get back into shape. Good for him with the weight loss. I just hope he can keep it off because as we age, it gets harder and harder to lose it.
*******s and *****s take note. That right there is a boxing legend, No cherry picking, no "he's not a big enough name to fight me" no drug test disputes, no bull****. Fought everyone, established a legendary legacy. People like him don't exist in the sport these days.
Exactly this. He had to know in the back of his mind that late in his career and up in weight, he was going to suffer some losses and he did it anyway. To go from lightweight to middleweight and fight Hagler, who I regard as one of the best middleweights to ever lace up the gloves and go 15 rounds says a lot about the man. He didn't back down from anyone and the ONLY dark mark on his incredible career is the "No Mas" fight against Leonard. I don't regard the losses on the tail end of his career as of much consequence to his legend in the ring.
