If ward wasn't most boring fighter he'd have fans , but nobody knows him , nobody cares about him and nobody watch his fights, it took GGG 2 years to become a bigger name in US than ward and I'm sure wlad vs jennings will do better TV numbers than ward did in any of his fights throughout his career. Wlad vs anybody in US would do better tv numbers than ward vs hopkins, because those two are boring as hell. Wlad can fill stadiums in germany and MSG in US, can ward fill MSG in his own country?
I'm a fan of boxing ,what Wlad does is he makes a mochary out of the sport with his wrestling ! Sorry. But I don't find what he does remotly enetrtaining..I'm a boxing fan I like boxers who know who to put punches together Wald is horrible at that !
Uh no he isn't Ward is a much better boxer Wald doesn't even have an inside game..And when is the last time he threw a body punch or an upper cut ?
Ward has 1 knock out throughout his career!! Wlad vs pulev was more exciting than wards whole career.
Grammar police Mockery He fights dirty as hell but had a lot of potential after Ward and Dirrel flopped I just knew that I would rather get behind limited fighters that exceed expectation than talented fighters that go nowhere. Hence I have given up on Ward. :hat
Hey it happens when you face the best can't knock EM all out like Wlad and the half the stiffs he fights
Yea man it blows so far he's been wasting his prime and zi think it has a lot to do with his ego. He should of fought Lucian Bute he wouldn't have best him like Froch did but it was a very winnable fight. Instead he fought weight drained Dawson and What's even worse Rodriguez who I didn't realize earned a fight with him. Now that he is supposed to be back he got turned down twice by HBO for his selection of time up fights which makes me believe he picked some pretty bad opponents. He has the WBA super champ belt he doesn't need to fight Froch who will only fight him in the UK with drug testing anyway. He said he not fight a Dirrel which also limits his options for 2 belts if Andre gets past Degale. Then you only have Abraham left who won't fight him. He doesn't have a lot of options left at SMW and he doesn't want to move up to LHW makes me feel he missed the boat and will never reach his potential.
I guess that's why Klitschko is one of the greatest heavyweights and Ward is... who is that again? Just because someone doesn't please everyone and "wrestles" as some say, doesn't mean that he is not the best. Let the other guys try to emulate what Wlad does and see how far they can go. And comparing a super-middleweight titleholder to the longtime heavyweight king is beyond ridiculous.
Wlad best watch his back as he's only got 12 months max before Ward steps up to HW and relieves him of all his belts. By 32 years old, Andre Ward will be heavyweight champion of the world, says the confident trainer. He has always beaten guys bigger than him, even in the amateurs. If Andre gets to 200 pounds naturally and maybe grows an inch taller, he could become heavyweight champion absolutely. ---Virgil Hunter I want to [challenge for a world heavyweight title], Ive talked about that since Ive been a kid, Ward said, apparently straight-faced. It seems crazy right now, but Im not gonna be [one-hundred and] sixty-eight [pounds] forever. You got to fight the right heavyweight, he admitted, but added: As a fighter, I believe I could beat a Klitschko Im wired to believe that I think it could happen, absolutely. ---Andre Ward
atsch I have already told people, that when Andre becomes champion there will be very few people that go the distance with him. You know, I listen to people talk about his punching power, but I think that he can hit just as hard as anybody out there, and they (the critics) dont know that. Now that he is a champ, and you include that extra twenty five to thirty percent of confidence, I am going to start calling for the knockout. You see, I never used to call for it before. But believe me he could knock out anybody out there. And he could hit as hard as anybody out there. But the critics dont believe that. They will believe that when it starts happening. ---Virgil Hunter
